Great place to get a coffee and shop for goodies and teas. More of a place to come and have a social experience or meet friends rather than have a quiet moment to yourself. Be aware they DO NOT allow laptop use in the shop. Not a complaint, I just would have liked to have known before I came. I respect that they are trying to preserve a certain culture but it is not something I am personally looking for. That is the reason for 4 stars.
The Merc is a hidden gem of a shop, offering a variety of fun souvenirs and cute gifts for everyone. However, what truly stands out are the chocolate bars with flavors from around the world that pair perfectly with their espresso drinks. Located in a historic building in downtown Helena, The Merc provides cozy nooks for hiding away and enjoying your treats. I highly recommend visiting this charming establishment.

This restaurant offers excellent coffee and a fantastic selection of chocolate bars to enjoy or take home as gifts. They also have fun adhesive stickers, cards, kids' toys, and a variety of items available. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The coffee at this restaurant is excellent, with a fantastic selection of chocolates to enjoy as well. They also have fun sticky stickers, cards, toys, and more, all with friendly staff. It's a great place to enjoy a cup of coffee, and there's even a small lofted area where children can climb with supervision.
Great staff that aims to please through coffee, tea, and interesting merchandise that you AND your children will love; you can spend 5 minutes getting a coffee to go, or a couple hours catching up with a friend while keeping kids entertained.
You might come to this restaurant for the desserts or chocolate bar (trust me, it's not a typo), but don't overlook their coffee. It's the best coffee I've ever had!
