George's Greek Cafe

I ordered take out at George's Greek Cafe. I ordered a side of rice, side of gyros, and the combo appetizer which is composed of calamari, spanakopita, gyro stuffed falafels and dolmas. The combo appetizer was rich in flavor. The beautiful spin of the falafels made them the star of the meal for me. The calamari was deliciously crispy and the sauce that accompanied it l, just took the flavor over the top. The gyro side was generous in portion and the meat was tender and full of flavor. When I arrived to picky order up ir was nicely packaged and the gentleman that helped me was warm, friendly and had me out the door in no time. The restaurant was clean and welcoming. Bad experience. Went in for lunch with my wife on a Sunday, and there was a hair in my wife's chicken kabob. We brought it to the waitress attention and she took the plate back . A few minutes later She brought the plate, which had the same kabobs with the hair still in there. At that point we decided to leaves. Also we went in during the time they had a brunch hour and the waitress was addemant that we have brunch. It was just terrible service and the fact they they tried to give my wife the same food with hair in it was unacceptable. I would stay away from this place.

The Mediterranean Salad I ordered was the highlight of the meal, but overall, the food quality was disappointing. On the positive side, the service was excellent—attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was also enjoyable, making it a nice place to unwind. However, I can't fully recommend it based on the food alone.

Faux Greek food. No Greek would recognize it. Service was terrible; an assortment of five different people kept checking on us but the food just wouldn't come out of the kitchen. Finally my husband headed to the kitchen found our food sitting under heat lamps. There are far better places to eat in Long Beach. Try one of them instead. Lamb was delicious as well as the appetizers. Salad was dry (lacked dressing) Worst part of the meal was the galatoboureko. It was a tiny piece that tasted like pure flour/dough. Horrible desert.
