Came by for dinner on Friday 9/13/24 around 6:30, party of 2. We were promptly greeted seated by the host. Our drink orders were taken and promptly received, but my boyfriend and I sat around for about 15 minutes before even meeting our server. Oil Cheese was served but it took a bit before our bread came out… We ordered an app to start (the Eggplant Involtini, it was tasty. Cooked nicely, I personally enjoyed the “dry” ricotta that was used versus the real wet, soupy kind, and the sauce was fresh and vibrant tasting. this took about 10-15 minutes before it came out before placing our order for our entrees. The best Italian restaurant in palatine. I wish we would have found it sooner! Get a reservation on the weekends because without the wait for food will be longer.The service, atmosphere, and food were all amazing. The pasta entrées were huge, and one dish could have easily served two people. The entrees come with a salad or soup. We tried the cream of spinach soup. It was really good but a little too salty for my taste.The salad was fresh, crisp, and delectable with the creamy garlic dressing. Steaming hot pasta made your way. Food was good, but it wasn't worth what they were charging. I've had better for much less. Overcharging about $8-$10 per plate. The food is prepared in house from scratch, but not the level I was expecting. They had way too many tables crammed in there, even with alfresco dining available. This place is a business failure from the simple standpoint that they should have moved out to their own stand-alone building years ago. Parking is okay, but the parking lot is set up kind of oddly in relation to their location. If you compare this to Pilot Pete's, Pilot Pete's destroys these people with food quality, price and atmosphere.
I don't usually write reviews but every member of your staff was awesome. We had 4 adults and 2 kids, we weren't dressed the best (had been out rock climbing with the kiddos) and were craving a delicious Italian dinner. So we called in and they had space for us. The host, the server (Amber), the bus boys, the pepper/Parm cheese guys, were all amazing. Seriously, so super friendly, personable, normal people you would be friends with. We’ve been here a few times now and I feel like it’s a little hit or miss. Sometimes what we order is good, sometimes it could be better. I haven’t really cared for a lot of the drinks I’ve had here. Also some of the tables are right on top of each other, you feel like your neighbors are at your table in your conversation.
A high end italian restaurant with a bar. Lots of wine choices with staff to help pair with your meal. Can buy by the bottle or glass. Would feel a little out of place with a tshirt so I'd recommend wearing a button down or polo for guys. Great food with different breads served while you wait for food.
I come here all the time. Tonight was the Worst service I have ever had… very un-attentive…. Waitied way too long. Had to ask bus boy for a menu. Then the dinner I ordered was changed to go rather than eat at the restaurant. NOT HAPPY.. very unfortunate. Still waiting….
