I booked a table for 15 at Ginjams for my 30th birthday celebrations, hoping to show my friends my favorite place in Bournemouth for cocktails and snacks. However, the night turned out to be a disaster. Despite preordering our food, we waited over 1.5 hours for it to arrive. Some dishes were missing, and there were mistakes in many orders, including serving cheese to a vegan. The waitress responded rudely when this was brought to her attention. Drinks were also slow to come out, leading to frustration among my guests. The manager offered only a 15% discount and asked us to keep waiting, despite few other customers in the restaurant. We came here at a friend's suggestion for the gin tasting. It was superb! None of us are huge gin drinkers before, the gins were all great, and we all came out of it with not just a new favourite but a whole bunch of excellent drinks to try and Tom was great at giving advise but still letting us experiment and have fun! It was fantastic, it was fun, engaging and entertaining while giving us so much value. Afterwards we stayed for food and drinks and everything was spot on, the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, the staff are friendly and honest in their opinions which makes it an awesome place to come and find a new favourite.
My wife and I recently visited this restaurant for a gin tasting night hosted by co-owner Tom. The venue was lovely and the staff made us feel very welcome, with the tasting table set up and ready upon our arrival. Due to a couple of no-shows, we ended up in a nice small group and had lots of time to chat with Tom about the 8 sample gins. Tom was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about gin, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We had a few laughs along the way as well. After the tasting, we stayed for some food and highly recommend trying the cheese fondue.
Popped into Ginjams with my husband a week or so ago and enjoyed a couple of gins. When planning an evening with a friend I suggested Ginjams as I'd seen the food and thought it looked lovely. We had the Dorset red cheddar and mustard fondue and the French sharing platter. I've never had a fondue before but will be doing so again, it was delicious! The staff were very friendly and helpful, we had a great night, thank you!

We had a really lovely evening at Ginjams celebrating my birthday. Chris was really helpful in arranging the evening. We did the taster game, which was good fun and something different to do with friends. A really nice chilled out setting with a snug area which was all set up for us, so it felt nice and private. Would definitely recommend and will be back again sometime soon!
At first I wasn’t sure about the menu until our food came out! Lovely presentation and very tasty. The main platter (French one) was quite big and varied. Loaded with a selection of cheeses, cold meats, crackers, grapes and olives. Plenty of food for 2. We will visit again for sure. The staff were very welcoming too.
Wow what a great little place. We were greeted by super friendly staff, The cocktails were delicious and the food was just lovely and very reasonable. We sat and chatted, played a game of othello and ate till we were stuffed. A perfect evening. Thank you for a lovely evening
This restaurant is a hidden gem. I really regret not visiting sooner. The menu is small but the food is of high quality, especially the gin tasting. This spot would be perfect for a gin lover's birthday, Mother's Day, or just when you feel like treating yourself.

Highly recommended. After enjoying post-dinner drinks on Friday, we booked to eat on Saturday night. Really enjoyable and well priced (although I think we only needed one fondue between the two of us! . Definitely going again.
5 out of 5 the best espresso martini outside of vegas! And the food was delicious. Service wonderful too. What else could you want!!
