I booked a table for a post-Christmas family meal at this restaurant. We arrived at 2:45 for our 3 pm booking, but the bar was closed. After a few minutes, a bartender showed up and we seated ourselves. We had to wait for the bartender to set up the bar before we could order drinks. However, we couldn't pay for them as the card machine needed charging. We then ordered our food, which was around £15 per person. Most of us chose burgers, while I opted for fish and chips with minted pea purée. The fish I received was a small tail end piece with poorly battered and only eight chips. We were really looking forward to our belated valentines meal and Joel’s, but unfortunately the service wasn’t the best, our meal came and she said she would grab a steak knife, after 10 mins I stood up to ask another member of staff for one and the meal was now cold, we then waited for them to come and clear our plates so we could ask for a dessert menu. We waited at least half an hour and no one came. Finally when someone came I just wanted to leave so I asked for the bill, she totally ignored me and pulled a face to another member of staff. Went for an Xmas do from my Pilates group with friends. Seated at 7pm, starter came at 8pm which was a bowl of soup, a tad on the cool side but tasted good. Main came at approx 9.20pm it was again quite cool but was not nice, didn't really taste of anything and was watery, the rice was over done and I felt as if it was microwaved. I gave in at that point and went home. For me to wait almost 2.5 hours for a main course is just not acceptable. There was a saxophone player trying to entertain us but all he did was make conversation very difficult because he was far too loud, To be honest I felt sorry for him because no one was paying him any attention. Rude, impatient staff. Had a lovely meal at Joel’s upstairs (separate business which I’d give 5 stars to), decided to pop into the Glasshouse for one after. Walked into one staff member propping up the bar, the other asking what we wanted, I said just going to have a look at cocktail menu, guy sat down then immediately asked what we wanted again before we even had chance to look at menu, then started rolling his eyes at the guy behind the bar, then did the same again within 30 seconds making us feel uncomfortable, so I told them to stick it and walked out. Shame as they had live music starting, no wonder it’s dead in there!

I ordered spaghetti without meatballs for my granddaughter and requested the same for myself. After waiting 40 minutes, the food arrived. To my dismay, I was served a bowl of canned spaghetti with only four tiny meatballs the size of marbles. At 58 years old, I was appalled by the quality of the food. I had to ask the waitress three times for our drinks and ultimately decided to leave the food uneaten. After requesting the bill three times, we were finally able to pay. I was shocked to see that we were charged full price for the disappointing meal. I will never return to this restaurant again.
I have visited this bar multiple times and can confidently say that I have never had a negative experience there. The bands and singers are fantastic, and the atmosphere is welcoming and cozy. The drinks, including a variety of amazing shots, are of good quality and reasonably priced. I highly recommend this place for a fantastic Saturday night out.
First visit to Joel’s food was amazing , hot , fresh delicious Staff very attentive friendly , drinks arrived cool fast ,excellent menu choices Sunday lunch was too die for will defo recommend will be returning thank you
Date night tonight and you can always trust Joels resturant to come threw with quality food and service. Had the lamb shank and king prawns which were awesome! Cant wait to come back again... thanks alot

A little underwhelmed and expected more. Lacked a bit of atmosphere. Food was okay but nothing special. Disappointing cocktails which was the main reason for our visit.
