This is a lovely pub! I stopped by for lunch after taking a walk in the area. I really appreciated the thoughtful touch of having shoe covers for walkers at the entrance. The staff are warm and welcoming, and I enjoyed a great lunch at an incredibly reasonable price. I will definitely be back. It's absolutely worth a visit! Price per person: £1–10. Food: 5/5. we held a family celebration for the 70th birthday of my man in their private dining room above. from beginning to end it was a great evening. we were good with faultless service and eating was very good quality and quantity! we were allowed to decorate the beautiful room for the opportunity and the evening was fully enjoyed by all.
We held our company Christmas celebration in the private dining room upstairs. The food was delicious, and there was an excellent selection on the Christmas menu. The staff were all wonderful and provided outstanding service. I would highly recommend this place. Many thanks to all the staff for a fantastic evening!
I had a lovely lunch at the Steak Pier. The Wye Valley beer was exceptional—light and refreshing. Although the pub was quite busy, the staff were friendly and courteous. The Globe Inn was a perfect stop about halfway through our 9-mile walk along the Ashby Canal towpath and the fields of Shackerstone.
For lunch, I had whitebait with a side salad and chips; it was simply delightful and perfectly cooked. The cakes and fish and chips that others were enjoying also looked amazing. Everyone around us seemed to be thoroughly enjoying their meals and were quite satisfied. Don't miss this place!
I don't have anything good to say about my experience. The service was lacking, and while some parts of the Sunday dinner were tasty, the beef was extremely tough. I won't be coming back. Price per person: £20–30.
