I was in Montpellier on wine business - I am a professional food and wine writer - and loved this little place. Charcuterie and small plates are the order of the day and they are all good. They have a self-serve vinomatic system that allows you to taste about 25 wines from the wall (1987 Chateau d'Yquem for $10 Euros - 1 ounce - for example) at your leisure or you can order off of the excellent wine list, all quite reasonably priced. The young guys that run it are affable and speak English. The atmosphere is great, I ended up going there 3 times over 5 days. The charcuterie is a standout. They take reservations which are a must during busy times as it is small.
We really enjoyed the hospitality of this place, the food was amazing and the wine selection and way of dispensing was fun. It was great to talk about all the wines they have on tap and how to pair them with the meats and cheeses. Our kids loved the raviolis and cheese. My wife and I loved trying all the different small plates each night. A great place as well when you are a big red drinker and your partner enjoys the whites. Try the armagnac, I found it a great experience at the end of the evening.
Absolutely loved this place, so much so that we returned for a second time in two days.I particularly enjoyed the enomatic wine dispensing machines, an opportunity to try different wines without committing to a full bottle. The tapas were great too, and the atmosphere was lively without being to overwhelming. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the wines on offer.All in all, a great find in the narrow streets of Montpellier just behind the Place de la Comédie.
Wine dispensing machine with really good wines by the glass for good prices. Food is ok allthough not fantastic. The vibe is good with a very relaxed feeling.
