The bagels at this restaurant are fantastic, so I definitely recommend it if you're in the Hicksville or Plainview area! However, I did have a concern regarding one of the employees. I noticed him smoking outside while wearing his apron, and then he came back in without washing his hands before serving the next customer. That’s quite unsanitary! I hope the management takes this matter seriously because I believe this establishment deserves more than just a generic apology for a negative experience. If they can address this issue, I might reconsider my review, but it was definitely off-putting.
I've been to Gold Meyer's Gourmet Deli twice. My first visit was excellent, but my recent experience was troubling. The woman preparing my sandwich wore gloves but then touched her face, adjusted her clothes, and handled money without changing them. She also grabbed my debit card, which was covered in sandwich juices, and wiped it on her apron. Since then, I've had severe diarrhea, headaches, chills, and a fever for two days. I tested negative for COVID to be certain. I won’t be coming back, and I advise others to be careful.
Absolutely dreadful! They really need to let go of the entire staff and hire people who can actually pay attention. Orders are consistently incorrect, and the food quality is mediocre at best. Ever since this place changed ownership, it has been on a serious decline, and we no longer visit. Every single review highlights the awful service—perhaps the owner should take notice and wake up to the reality, no pun intended.
Now I understand why I usually avoid this place. The bagels are far inferior compared to other nearby delis. I paid $14 for two egg sandwiches on bagels, and coffee wasn’t included. It was a disappointing experience. Both bagel varieties I tried were undercooked and had a pasty texture. The ham on my sandwich was also of poor quality. At that price, I expected much better. I won’t be coming back.

I've been visiting this restaurant since the early '80s. Although I moved away years ago, I still make it a point to stop by for breakfast or lunch whenever I'm back in town. I'm always satisfied with the food, and today's breakfast was incredible. Thank you! I'm looking forward to returning tomorrow on Christmas for my favorite egg sandwich and fresh fruit. - JJ

I wasn’t particularly impressed, but I’d be willing to give it another shot. The bagels were hard and stale, as were the muffins. I might return to try their salads and a sandwich, but when it comes to breakfast, I'm not so keen.

Ample meat on sandwiches, adequate variety of items including soups, salads, sandwiches, muffins, drinks and snacks. Line moves along quickly when busy. Place to sit or takeout. Seems to have a lot of regulars/customers.
They frequently get orders wrong. Lately, every order has had some kind of mistake. I'm really disappointed.
