I've been wanting to try this take away for a while now, and the opportunity came up this week. My wife, who can be fussy, had a chicken kebab, I had a mixed meat kebab they were lovely. We shared a very generous portion of perfectly cooked chips. The staff were friendly pleasant, they went out of their way to ensure a little boy did not leave the shop empty handed when he changed his mind over his meal choice. One complaint, the shop was freezing, the door cannot close properly and on a truly cold evening it was baltic! I was a bit stupid to go into the gold star, but I must say I was pleasantly surprised. the personal was friendly, the chip shop is clean and well managed. the meals I ordered were exactly what I ordered. the food was hot and the portions were good. the curry is still great they can go to other chip shops and the curry changes consistency and taste throughout the time I was here, it has not changed. the chips are always beautiful (some chips are disgusting) I am already back a few times and have found the same level of the service. that's my way into the chip shop. but the old saying is still true that you cannot all be satisfied
This has got to be the worst takeout I have ever had. The meat was dry and tough. I ordered the mixed kebab and the lamb and chicken were so dry, it seemed like they were just reheated and were inedible. My wife had the beef with green peppers and the beef was tough and lacked flavor. In over 30 years of eating takeout food, I have never had a meal this bad. It came close, but this one tops them all.
from here we picked up food and got a meal home, was not what we ordered. rang back and told them and they delivered the new meal within 5 minutes even sent rice and chips without extra cost. could not have been more helpful, absolutely excellent customer service and eating that was perfect. We placed our order over the phone with a friendly girl, but when the food arrived, it was terrible. The fries were oily and lacked salt, despite our request. The savoury cake was extremely dry and inedible. It was a disappointing experience and a complete waste of money.
I ordered a few chicken kebabs from this restaurant, but they arrived looking like chewed up dog food. It was absolutely disgusting and inedible. There was nothing special about this place. The chips were the only decent thing.
Fabulous chip shop staff are friendly and polite and food is amazing, hands down these do the best cod in the area, chips are not greasy and delicious, this chipshop definitely gives byrnes chippy a run for its money!
