This local cheese place is tucked away in Maple Ridge, but well worth the long trip (and the toll bridge) if you want to try new, locally made cheeses.They are the sole makers of this piece of heaven called "Blue Velvet" which looks like a Brie, but has the slight blue goodness bacterium-thingy gently buried in the crust of a creamy, delightful end-of-meal cheese. Delicious cheese shop run by fabulous people! This is a cute little cheese place, sort of in the middle of nowhere. The girls that run it and make the cheeses are wonderful, and they have a wide selection of delicious goodies to ensure that your cocktail party is a success! They also host a variety of events, that seem seasonal. So be sure to check out what they have! We have yet to try any of the events, but we have tried the cheese! And it's pretty darn good! In the spring and summer they have a fruitstand that is outside in the parking lot, which makes it a very convenient location to stop in on the way home from work. Delicious!
Ordered a cheese plate here and was kind of disappointed because it's essentially already prepared and you don't get to choose the cheeses. The cheeses we received were pretty good but I'm not big on havarti (kind of bland no matter what you do to it).We got a few samples, however, and the blues were great. The blue velvet was really nice and we got a big piece to take home. It might not be worth driving all the way to Maple Ridge to have lunch here, but it is worth going to buy some of the amazing blue cheese.
A hot bowl of soup and a delicious bit of bread make Cheesecrafters another favourite stop for lunch for us. The small cafe is part of the store where you can see the cheese being made. Nestled in a backroad of maple ridge this little gem is a treat to visit. Great selection of cheeses as well as many neat specialty items. If you like Brie. Blue velvet is to die for. Had an outstanding buttermilk cheese muffin. So good. Mmmmmm
This store has a lot of interesting things and giftware for sale. The restaurant is good but they don't have a lot of choices. The items that they have are yummy. Lots of choices for cheese and unique food items (jams, packaged food etc).
Love looking at everything in the store, love that they have pre made frozen meals you can buy. Poutine is awesome! They carry a lot of other local products which is great. Such a neat place to go for lunch and breakfast!
cheeses are very nice but very expensive. we can only purchase occasionally due to costs. they have a coffee shop, you can get some items to eat. they also sell kitchen related merchandise and pickles etc. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
What a great place to visit. Lots of items to look at in the store. Many great cheeses to buy (they let you try a piece if you are not sure) - they are all good! We stayed for lunch and enjoyed every bite.
