The atmosphere of this place is nice. Cute little booths, flowers at the table. You walk in and think that you're going to have a nice, authentic experience.Unfortunately, the service is terrible. Perhaps I've been spoiled by better places, but after sitting down for my meal alone, I had to wait 10 minutes for the server to come back. In this 10 minutes, she did not bring me any water, make any recommendations, or even engage in conversation. This place not far from both highways is pleasantly accessible and yet understated. Compared to Pearl Dragon buffet nearby, the service here was prompt without a fuss over language/menus, parking, or payment. It also felt like good value, and the portion was right. I have to say that the food is consistently very very good, but the service and making any type of modifications is nearly impossible even for consistent clients like myself and my coworkers. My office orders from this restaurant very frequently, and we go there in person at least once a week and for them to be so extremely difficult about any type of modifications, and outright, refusing to do so just makes for the worst type of customer service which is why my rating is just a one star! Atmosphere and ambience is a lost trait in restaurants nowadays. Gonoe Sushi does a great job at creating a special environment from the moment you step through the door. Their service is quick and have a very polite approach.I didn’t see any vegan options at first, but was able to pin point their Tofu Teryaki dish which came with miso soup, house salad and a side of rice. I also ordered a plate of avocado rolls.Very delicious food with great flavour. Will definitely visit again!
Great atmosphere, we asked to be seated outside on their patio and it was really pretty.Presentation of the food was on the fancier side, something you would get at sushi places that cost $100+ but it leaves you feeling like the quality of the fish should at least match the presentation.Staff was friendly, they offer a discount if you pay in cash.
Gonoe Sushi is another restaurant that sells sushi that will satisfy your cravings. Prices were on the more expensive side but I think the size and quality of the sushi make it reasonable. Been coming to Gonoe for over a decade! Love the makis, bentos, and donburis.The service is quick and the portions are generous.Come for the lunch special on weekdays and saturdays for an even better deal. Just make sure you check the opening hours to avoid coming right before or during the mid-afternoon close.
I really enjoyed dining at this charming Japanese restaurant. The decorations are lovely and I appreciate that they have private booths available. The food was incredibly fresh and delicious. I will definitely be returning in the future.
The food here is always top notch. Sushi and sashimi are so fresh I have never had a piece of fish, that didn’t melt in your mouth. Service is excellent and everyone is so friendly. Best sushi in North York by far!
