I’ve always loved Japanese cuisine. When I arrived at Gou I asked the waitress what she’d recommend and I have to say I was completely content with her selections! We started with the Agedashi Tofu which was silky and soft, a chefs choice of six different combinations of sushi to try and a traditional daifuku for dessert. I adored the daifuku! Japanese desserts aren’t as sweet but the red bean paste has a beautiful flavour and with the strawberry absolutely gorgeous.A chefs tasting plate was definitely the way to go, if your indecisive or even just curious and want to try new combinations this is perfect for you! Located just within walking distance from Central station, this Restaurant serves made-to-order Japanese cuisine on top of grab-and-enjoy plates from sushi train.<br/ We ordered several dishes from the menu and also several sushi plates for our dinner. All are so good! Everything is fresh, made out of high quality ingredients and tasted delicious.<br/ My favourite dishes: soft shell crab tempura, lobster tail tempura, spicy karaage, ebi tempura roll and aburi sushi plate.<br/ Their dessert is delightful too black sesame ice cream and cheese spring roll).<br/ At time of writing they have lunch special $3.20 for all sushi plates). Sounds like a good deal to me.<br/
A quaint and quiet place very close to Central station that was recommended to me by friends. They have a sushi train but we ordered from the menu and while some dishes did take awhile to come out (granted, we asked for 7-8 servings per dish as we had a lot of people , digging into it was awesome. Special mention to the lobster tail which was soooo good for a very reasonable price! They have a very interesting yet affordable menu which doesn't just consist of your typical sushi. Will visit again! :
Stopped by Gou in passing for a quick lunch and it did not disappoint! Quick and friendly service from staff. Ordered the agadeshi tofu which was delicious and silky, the aburi salmon roll which was super tasty and a very generous serving and karaage chicken which was so juicy and even had seasoning on the side of mayo which only elevated the flavours... was so excited to eat it all I didn’t manage to take images of each dish but definitely will be back Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Japanese food is all about quality, there is a strong sense of preciseness and deliberateness to all aspects of it. Gou Sushi is the perfect example of that, it is beyond just an average Sushi Train restaurant, everything is heightened to a further level. Even if I had hands I couldn’t count the number of times I’d opted for dinner at this unassuming best kept secret of Surry Hills. You could say it’s my ‘Gou To’ Sushi pick (I’m SO sorry). The interior features a large sushi train that surrounds the Jedi Master, as he churns out some of the freshest and most innovative sushi this side of Osaka.

A good Surry Hills local for better quality sushi train. you can order from the menu and see the sushi chef make it in front of you. Watch out for their daily specials and if you see the Crystal bay prawn, order it!
