Only honest reason I go to this restaurant is because it's no more than 5min away from my job and only Latin food closest. For someone who doesn't eat hispanic food or isn't hispanic, they may say it's great but unfortunately I can't say that. To top it off, for a simple lunch like oxtails n white rice (which wasn't fresh rice/No beans or anything additional) costs $17! Ok maybe a drink incl. But too bad i chose a Jarritos so i was charged additional. It's actually comical that i let this happen and didn't just leave the food behind.. Absolutely absurd, may be the location this place is but doesn't justify the ridiculous prices they charge here.
The empanadas at this restaurant are absolutely incredible. My son thought they were so good that every other empanada we tried paled in comparison. They offer a variety of delicious fillings, but our favorite is the steak. The meat inside is tender and flavorful with a hint of spice. I also tried their hot cash drink and found it to be delicious. They have a few dessert options, but their tres leches cake is definitely my favorite.
I absolutely adore this restaurant. It's convenient being located in the same building where the owners' daughters work. The mother, who is also the chef, is a lovely individual and her cooking is fantastic. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for fresh and delicious food. Gourmet Express is one of my top choices, especially since the youngest daughter works there as well.
I recently visited this restaurant and tried the pernil and arroz con gandules, and it was amazing. It reminded me of Puerto Rico. The empanadas were large and filled to the brim. The pernil can also be ordered by the pound. This is my new go-to place for pernil.

The empanadas here are amazing ?. Coming from paterson, we are used to $1 empanadas but it's all flour and not enough filling. This spot is all filling with alot of flavor. Very good.
