After hunting for a vegan friendly restaurant in Newtown, we came across Green Gourmet and could not be more glad we decided to enjoy dinner here. There is a choice between a buffet or a la carte menu, and we choice to order a variety of 6 dishes to share. The menu is massive, with plenty of options, including rice paper and spring rolls, other fried and filled pastries, rice, noodles and chinese classics such as tofu sweet and sour which was absolutely delicious. The sweet potato pillows and spring rolls are also excellent. The menu also has low gluten and gluten free labels which were very helpful when selecting our dinner choices.Next door to the restaurant you will find a vegan dessert b...
This vegan restaurant has been around for along time and with good reason. It serves good vegan food (including meat substitutes good enough to fool carnivores) cheaply and efficiently. The buffet is especially good value – load up a plate from many selections and get it weighed for a price. Drinks are good with some exotic and delicious juices available to reward the adventurous. Service is good and helpful and the decor is basic. At these prices and with this food you’ll spend more time looking at your plate than the décor though. Well recommended even for the meat eater amongst you.
My friends and i went to this place to eat for dinner we thought it was safe because it's Vegeterian/Vegan but it's not the cast. We all got bad food poisoned, i confronted the owner with my evidence from my GP that we did get food poisoning. The owner was in denial of the hygiene standard & food preparation. I will never recommend anyone to eat in Green Gourmet Newtown. People should know this place very dirty & not to eat here....
A huge selection, took quite a while to wade through all the options. Dishes ranged from solid to fantastic. The Malaysian Curry was tasty but the Satay Skewers were a real stand out. Would definitely go back to try again.

Too greasy for my liking but grateful for vegan options. I hope they cut down on oil a little. But will definitely recommend to people who like this kind of food x
I have eaten here a number of times and the food is always excellent. The buffet is very good either to take away or eat in. The range of food available is good.
I absolutely love Green Gourmet. Every time I have been to Sydney I specifically go there to eat. i have been eating there for 18 years and absolutely love it
Delicious tasty food with a menu that offered a large range of dishes. The staff were very friendly even though we had come st the end of their lunch service

The wonton soup tastes plain, but the satay skewers and service are excellent. Relaxing atmosphere..
