I came across this place after reading the high number of positive reviews (also the 1 negatiw seemed to pick up at stealing! and thought it would be the perfect place to take the family for a decent evening meal! the first thing we noticed was the size of the parking lot, which has plenty of parking, so already a big positive for those who need to drive out of the far away. the size of the restaurant is quite large and really well decorated inside with an authentic feel to it. the service was really 2. to none, the personal was really friendly and was really helpful by looking into what some of the dishes were like. that was our second visit and it was not disappointed. we took two of our friends to celebrate a birthday, we sat on a special table with a birthday banner and balloons. we received free appetizer, then before our main course we got complime sorbets and then at the end of the meal the workers brought a cheesecake with a candle and sang happy birthday. all very nice touches. the food and service was excellent and we will be back very soon. we can highly recommend this restaurant.
2nd visit and we were greeted like old friends, The food is simply stunning, the service just great. It was a friends birthday and without being asked there were banners, balloons and even an improvised birthday cake (the singing during 'happy birthday to you ' could have been better but thinking about it that may have been me ! Thank you for a perfect night. If you get a chance to visit Gurka1816 make sure you do it , you won 't regret it.
never before eat Nepalese food, but it was fantastic. beautiful staff that was very helpful in the choices. the gurkha bier was a great addition to eating, and we had a good meal. the only thing I can say negatiw, it is a little expensive for wednesbury with the bill that comes to £52 for the two of us, it will scare off most native from trying it.
Eaten here several times now and the quality of the food has always been excellent. The staff are always on top form always aiming to please. How many other restaurants do you go to where the chef comes out to talk and ask how the food was -most hide away just in case. Thoroughly recommend this to all that want something different.
What an amazing place. Food out of this world, staff extremely friends. Went for the hubbies birthday meal with kids and friends. Couldn’t do enough for us complimentary drinks and a surprise slice of cake brought out. Can’t wait to go back for adults only evening!!
Lovely family meal!! Never tried Nepalese food before but was absolutely delicious with excellent service!! Wine just as good will deff be visiting again and would recommend to anyone!!
I’ve been to Gurkha 1816 on many occasions and it’s always been very good! Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, would highly recommend!
