One of the standout features of this restaurant in the Memphis area is the portion sizes, which are more generous and filling compared to others I've tried. The only fried chicken that I found to be better was from the now-defunct Mrs. Winner's chain. If you prefer your bun on the larger side, Gus's is definitely the place to go. You can order various amounts of chicken served with white bread and two sides. Among the sides offered are baked beans, potato salad, coleslaw, spicy fried rice, mac and cheese, and whole jalapeños, although this location doesn't offer all of these options. Overall, the sides are somewhat underwhelming.
Came here on Monday around 2 pm and sat down right away. It was about 70% capacity Order all dark combos and some chicken tenders and sides Food took about 40 minutes to come , not sure if our order was lost. The thighs were moist , seasoning compared to downtown Gus were lacking . Crunch was there , however Defientely tasted different from yesterday's visit to Gus's in downtown Memphis . Maybe It was because of the high turnover at downtown which makes the oil tastes different But if you are nearby worth a try, the servers were very friendly.
The chicken was incredibly crispy, juicy, and full of flavor. We ordered two chicken breasts, a medium-sized mac and cheese, and a small side of greens. The chicken was among the best I've ever had. While the spice level was a bit higher than what we're used to, it was absolutely delicious if you can handle some heat. The mac and cheese and greens were good as well, but the chicken definitely outshone everything else.
Without a doubt, this is the best chicken I've ever had in my life. I've had friends fly in just to try it because no other fried chicken in America comes close! Don’t let the number of cars in the parking lot deter you; they are quick to get orders out, and everything on the menu is exceptional!

The chicken was fried well, but flavorless. The sides were good though (baked beans and potato salad). Customer service was A+ and the sweet tea on point. Overall, I wasn’t impressed with this Gus’ location. It’s worth saying that I’ve been to the one in Southaven and enjoyed it much better.
This chicken is awesome. The macaroni and cheese is good as well. Fried okra is great as well. We had a party of 7 so there was about a 15 minute wait on a table. Waitress was very attentive. We never had an empty glass. Great overall experience !
Without a doubt my favorite chicken place! Hate that it’s so far away from where I live cause it’s sooo good. Every time I come to Memphis/Germantown, I have to get me some Gus’s fried chicken!
I always love Gus chicken but today they let me down my I spent 32$ on my 2 meals and my macaroni was so dry ! The chicken was cooked too hard and dry and the fries were burnt

That's a great location. Best service I've had for a long time. I was very kind, but especially our waitress Charollte. Certainly ask them every time.
Great flavorful chicken and social distance practices were great. This location is my favorite more spacious.
