Gyoka Izakaya, bar a sushi

I went to Gyoka with a friend for a late lunch as a result most patrons were leaving as we arrived. We had a reservation and were politely and warmly greeted. We chose to share 2 of their Classic rolls which was plenty of food since we had a small garden salad as a starter. The sushi rolls were good and fresh and I like the location right in the center of town. I think it has a lot of charm and the staff is well trained and friendly. I will definitely go back. Our lunch with two glass of wine each came to $38 each taxes and tip

Went there with family. The service is very good. Environment is also good. The food quality is good, but is felt to be a bit heavy in taste. I understand that the resturant has to make some adaptations to the local residents' flavour. They have a wine list, but mediocre. If you happen to be there, I recommend you try once.

Sushi lovers must go there , it’s a tiny place not very appealing from the outside but it sure is cozy from the inside. the food was excellent , i haven’t had salmon so fresh since i moved to montreal. they have a huge variety on their menu and their service is very attentive. I will definitely be a regular there :

My third experience at Gyoka was as amazing ! This around I had a soup-meal chicken teriyaki! Just perfect. Mme Mao, the owner, is so genuine and attentive to her clients needs. For great food in a cosy setting. This is a must ! Cheers, Ps. Loved the wine list as well. Pinot grigio ruffino, my fav !

Our second visit in about a month, wide variety of choices not only sushi, which is nice to mix it up a bit.
