Whenever I dine at this restaurant, I always enjoy the delicious food and reasonable prices. However, I have repeatedly encountered extremely rude service. I typically give establishments multiple chances, but the consistent lack of courtesy from the staff has ultimately soured my overall experience. With so many BBQ restaurants in Los Angeles, there are plenty of alternatives for customers to choose from. Competition breeds better service, and it's important for restaurants to treat their patrons with respect.
The restaurant is not like any other Gyu, it is more modern and i was impressed. The table layout is nice and offers options for quiet couple areas and group tables with a view. The food was really good as it always is at Gyu. They didn’t have happy hour yet because they just opened, but assured it would come. It was busy with a wait time and well worth it. Book on Open Table to get in and seated faster. Recommend
Food was ok, service was not friendly or welcoming. I've lived in Japan for years and eaten at Japanese BBQYakiniku restaurants all of the world and many, many times. The food was good but could be better. The friendliness of staff left a lot to be desired
Loved it!!! Been going to Gyu for some time now, but the new look in Santa Monica was great. It was my son's first time going and he REALLY had a good time and said the food was delicious

Food was so amazing!!! They had a really good special on the price for the Lunar New year. Filet mignon was my favorite meat and the garlic fried rice is an absolute must !!!
The food is consistently delicious and the service is always reliable. I prefer this restaurant because it is spacious and comfortable, larger than the other locations.

The best gyu Kaku so far! They're one of the few locations with a bar and this one is much larger than the one on Pico

Many of the meat dishes were mediocre. It seems like it wasn't a particularly good night for them.
Was there for a birthday and it was amazing you came and sung happy birthday lol it was hilarious
