TL;DR: over rated and over priced. I would rate it 4 stars but it just does not justify itself for the price. I was told that the beef tongue is awesome, and it did turn out to be good, however not awesome. The jidory chicken is also not bad but nothing special. I was putting high expectations on the yakitori but they were just average and I would have forgotten about them by now if not for the photos. Chazuke is good but a bit too salty in my opinion. Oh I also ordered a negi-toro roll but it was nothing photo worthy. I also did not like the fact that the waitress kept asking me to order so frequently after I was seated, but took quite a while to swip my card.
I have not been to Izakaya Hachi in some time but it was great to return last night with friends from Japan who were in need of a reminder of home. As always, the food was terrific, the service excellent, making this another enjoyable evening. I'll be back, and hopefully not too far in the future.
We've spent a lot of money, and there's a lot of alcohol and food left, but the clerks give us the bill and the togo box, and forcefully pack the leftovers. They tell us to get out quickly. We never had a long time, and we still had extra orders. And it's too expensive
I spent $120 here. But the clerks brought us in less than two hours after we came in, checked us in, gave us a togo box even though we had a lot of food and alcohol left, and kept telling us to come and leave again and again. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
We had a wonderful experience with the expertly crafted, distinctive, and delectable dishes at this restaurant. We will definitely be coming back!
Generally reservations are standard for table and not bar. When we made a reservation, our table was not set aside.
This izakaya in the South Bay area is the best! Despite its small size, the quality of the food is top-notch.
