I have been here one other time and was pleased. However my last visit was terrible. I treated a friend to lunch thinking it would be as nice as my prior visit but this time it was disappointing from the start. We had a reservation and upon entering there was no one at the front. We waited several minutes before a server stopped and said she would be with us shortly. A few minutes passed and the bartender yelled across the room for us to go find a seat anywhere. Mind you the restaurant was mostly empty. None of the tables were set. Once seated a server came over. She was pleasant but not accommodating and was rushing about. After our meal she didn't offer us coffee or dessert, just the check...
After a burial at sea, a group of 20 of us arrived at the restaurant an hour early for an early dinner. The staff was fantastic! After talking with the hostess, we decided to gather at the bar to relax and reflect on the day’s events. It wasn’t long before we were informed that our table(s) were ready, and we could head upstairs. We ordered from the menu, and our server, Blair, was exceptional. The food was delicious. The manager, Kerry, and her team did an amazing job accommodating my family and friends as we honored our loved one’s wish to be laid to rest at sea. I highly recommend this restaurant, and when we return to Point Pleasant, we will definitely make it a point to visit Half Moon...
The food was really good. My only issues was flies. There were a few and that was quite annoying. The brussel sprouts appetizer was good needed some balsamic reduction which I asked for, the chicken wings were delicious cooked perfectly. The salmon was cooked perfectly as was my husband braised short ribs. I didn't like that the tables were so plain, no candles or little vase with flowers, the tables needed something on them to give the restaurant a little pop!!
Unfortunately, the kitchen was extremely slow; it took 30 minutes for our appetizers to arrive, and then our dinner came just 10 minutes later, but it was cold. I understand that service can suffer due to staffing issues, but it seemed like this place was being run by inexperienced young staff who need more training in proper service techniques. Enjoyed the new changing menu. The specials were French themed this last visit. Everything was delicious. Service was fast and courteous even though the place was packed. The sound level was high, that is the only reason they lost a star. Just want to add, restrooms were extremely clean. I appreciate it and shows everything matters. My new favorite local place. My 3rd visit this month.
First time there, service was good our waitress was very attentive, my Wife had the short rib panini which was very good… I had the Black and blue burger !! Both the burger and bun was dry and the side order of onion rings were soggy and cold. There was barely if any Cajun seasoning on the burger and no onion ring. Will give them a second chance next time.
Food and service were pretty good! Drinks were pretty bad! Bartender (young guy) could not make a margarita. Sent it back and came back the same. I think maybe he was using peach schnapps or something. It was so awful. Tequila, lime juice, triple sec, (optional simple syrup). Not hard. Will try again cause otherwise good and thinking bartender was new.
Been here a few times. Twice for a party in the upstairs area. Food is always amazing and service is always great. I've never had a bad experience or a bad meal. Short ribs are phenomenal. The food was fantastic, and the service was outstanding. The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere and was impeccably clean.
