Change of ownership: In April 2021 there are new owners. The current owner and boss, Niko, sold the business. He will concentrate his time and energy in his flagship restaurant, Sushi Plantation, in Mission Viejo. Hanako was definitely one of the best Japanese restaurants I've ever eaten. The dishes of Niko were as attractive and creative as they were delicious. Many friends and family sang there. Although we are sad that he leaves the area we all wish him. Phenomenal sushi with wonderful service. If you're by yourself or with loved ones, this is the perfect sushi place to eat as they offer sushi at a very affordable price with super kind service. I had the Caliente Roll, Deep Fried CALI Roll, and the Sunset or Sunrise and they were all amazing packed with flavor. And the fish is fresh, no rotten or past the date taste. I know as a former sushi chef. The sushi chef himself is very kind and I can tell they put a lot of hard work and love into their food. I'd really give this place a try!
A very quaint setting which makes the space very inviting. You?re always in the line of sight of your servers as well which gives it a very personal feel. The food and presentation is fantastic. I enjoyed everything I chose on the menu, plus the substitute suggestions of our server. I will certainly be going back whenever I feel an urge for sushi. The price wasn?t bad at all; very affordable and good quality sushi. For an added bonus their ramen is very delicious as well, so don?t be afraid to just stop in for ramen too!
This sushi place never ceases to amaze me. The quality of everything is fresh, and the consistency is amazing. This has to be my all time new favorite sushi spot. This place is a true gem! We've visited twice, and both experiences have been fantastic. Today, we attended happy hour, and the service was exceptional! I highly recommend the crispy rice with spicy tuna—it's fresh and incredibly tasty! Plus, their $3 beers during happy hour are a great deal. We will definitely be coming back for more!

The staff is incredibly attentive and friendly. The sushi itself is delicious and has a homemade quality, even though the presentation is impressive.
This is one of my parents' favorite sushi restaurants in our area. The food is really good and fresh. Service is incredible. The server/ workers go out of their way to make you feel welcome. I love how they also offer Thai cuisine. Pad Thai is my favorite! Would definitely go back :
