I don't know if the restaurant is under new management, I hadn't been able to eat here in about a year due to losing my taste and smell from covid and was excited to order my favorite red curry tofu again! Over the past month I've provbabyl ordered it twice a week, lol. I noticed the rice portion was smaller but didn't mind that as much as the curry sauce shortage, which has gotten lower each time. I had asked for an extra side of sauce (in the previous years this was always free, for about half a cup) but I was charged an extra $2.26. I spoke to the woman at the front desk on the phone and she said they are charging this much now. I asked to please take it off the bull and give me the stand...
This is my favorite restaurant. I had a miscommunication last time I ordered and left a lower review because of it and because I was sick and in a poor mood. I tried asking door dash if I could delete the poor review but they said it is not possible, so I am sorry about that original poor review and take responsibility for it. And thank you all for being so kind and understanding. I feel really bad about last time and want to publicly apologize. You all always serve amazing food and have good attitudes. I appreciate Hanami restaurant a lot.
DoorDash won't let me edit my last review, I wanted to leave five stars. Though I wasn't very pleased with my dish the Hanami staff were still friendly and respectful and tried to offer the best explanation they could. The staff is wonderful, I wish the owner would not have cut back on portions and increased expenses at the same time, though. In my opinion, Hanami is still the best Asian Fusion restaurant in Middletown.
The salmon combo and the maki combo are quite good. The soup that comes with the meal was still hot and very tasty.
