This small restaurant offers fantastic food. I recently moved to Wilton and used to frequent several Chinese restaurants in Norwalk, Stamford, and Darien. I decided to try this place since it's conveniently located near other shops, and I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty the food was! One busy night, there was a mix-up with my order; someone took the wrong bag, and we received their meal instead. They quickly realized the mistake and called us back. I was a bit irritated, but I understand that mistakes happen. They provided us with the correct order and insisted we keep the mix-up as a gesture of goodwill, which I thought was very nice. Best chinese food in the area. I tried other Asian restaurants nearby but their food tastes lacking and isn't as fresh and good as Happy Wok. Those who complain that the food is greasy, haven't had truly greasy Chinese food. My only real complaint is that the dumplings are doughy, the wrapper could be thinner. The prices are fair considering that the business is located in high rent Wilton. I grant that it's not much of a sit down place, it's for take out or delivery, if you live nearby.
The food is absolutely delicious, and the owner is incredibly friendly. I accidentally spilled a milkshake in my car, and while I was cleaning up the mess with napkins from my order, the owner noticed and came out to bring me extra napkins, even though the restaurant had just closed. I really appreciated this exceptional level of customer service!
