Went for dinner, and we won't be back. We waited about 20 minutes on a Friday evening, which wasn't too bad but after having the food, a waste of our time and money. The iced tea tasted watered down, the split pea soup was thin, and we didn't get a bread basket when ordering dinner. The coconut shrimp seemed bland, and the mango sauce tasted like what kids play-doh smells like. The waitress seemed in a hurry anytime we needed something, and apparently, you can't order bakery items to go, which is a waste of time, in my opinion. They also make you go to the counter to pay your bill, which is in the way at every angle and overly crowded with people.
My wife and I enjoyed are food very much. The service was good but I thought the waitress forgot about us for awhile. The atmosphere was very pleasant and the bakery inside the restaurant was very busy. I had biscuits and gravy and my wife had strawberry french toast. We will go back! Oh lordy where to start, the breakfast was scumptous along with Jennifer being a amazing waitress. The half order of biscuits gravy was as good as mine, that's a first for me. Now the Bakery is da bomb, so so many choices. You have to go there tounderstand as you'll see in my pictures. Prices on both the restaurant bakery are so reasonable, besides supporting a localbusiness. Fresh everything, my car smelled like a bakery for a couple of hours. Down the road one block is a fabulous view ofFox River to boot.
Incredible food. I was seated in a pretty bleak side room not near any of the windows overlooking the river, so didn't get much of the ambience of the main dining area, but it certainly didn't detract from the DELICIOUS food! Stocked homemade soup and salad bar was SO delicious. And the homemade meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and mushroom gravy were both filling and pleasureful. Grandma's kitchen, homestyle food. If that's what you are looking for this is where you want to go. Their bread/biscuit not sure what to call it is amazing. They also have a bakery and I am sure you will find something sweet you love just like we did. We were traveling through and found this on Google. Very glad we made it a stop. The views if the river while you eat are beautiful as well.
Came here while on a road trip. The helpings are large and the food is delicious. My husband loved the fried chicken as it was juicy, tender and the coating was crispy. The rolls are the best I have ever had. The bakery is amazing! Very busy but wedidn't have to wait long. This is a must if you are in the area.
Very dated decor. Good breakfasts with some unique dishes. Their sausage gravy has a great reputation. Highlight is that they have their own bakery and all the stuff is great. So save room or take some home for later.
