While I normally gravitate toward conventional hotels when on business-related trips, this time I was late in making my advance reservations, and the Heart of the Village Inn in Shelburne (VT) had an available vacancy. So, I grabbed it! The inn is a gem in a gem of a village! It's a relatively small inn; a beautiful Victorian house. Very comfortable, clean and pleasant room, and the breakfast was really wonderful. Heart of the Village Inn is operated by Rose and Anatoly, two of the nicest innkeepers you'll ever meet. Welcoming, respectful and interesting people, they did all they could to make my stay a pleasant experience. Try Heart of the Village Inn. You'll love it!
The hosts were wonderful and incredibly gracious, making us feel like valued guests in their own home. The accommodations were excellent, providing a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. The woodwork in the main house has been maintained beautifully, adding a lot of character and charm. Breakfasts were hearty and delicious, with plenty of options for everyone, including gluten-free and vegetarian choices. I had the best blueberry pancakes I've ever tasted! As for the shoe policy, you have the option to wear disposable slippers, your own slippers, or socks. The location is fantastic, and I can't wait to return!
We stayed at Carriage House because there are no steps to maneuver to get to our choice of Bostwick room. Spacious and clean. Bed was stronger than my home, but still comfortable. We could hear the guests upstairs, but it wasn't a big deal. Breakfast is made to order and was DELICIOUS! We like to talk to the other guests, but these were tables for two, maybe this way because of COVID? In any case, breakfast is wonderful and the hosts are friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed our short visit and would highly recommend this B and B!
We would without any doubt recommend a stay at Heart of the Village Inn. Great hosts, great place to stay and a great location. We had a great time there for 4 nights, and we hope to be back again someday. Don't forget to ask your hosts about where to go or what to see or do. You'll probably learn about some hidden gems like where to see a great sunset, where to eat, and where to have a nice hike, etc. P.S. You'll enjoy your breakfasts and you definitely won't go hungry. We had a wonderful experience at this inn! The owners, Rose and Anatoly, are incredibly friendly and genuine. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and spacious. The location is convenient, just a short distance from Burlington and other attractions. Most importantly, the food was delicious and the portion sizes were very generous! Overall, this inn is fantastic, and we highly recommend it. We will definitely stay here again when we’re in the area.
If you're going to stay anywhere this is the place. Everything was fantastic and Rose and Anatoly are such amazing hosts. The breakfast was exceptional, rooms were very clean and comfy, shower had great pressure and everything was so close. I will definitely go back. There was so much to see that a weekend wasn't enough. You absolutely have to try the pancakes, quiche and eggs. Just get everything off the menu ?
I had a wonderful experience at the Heart of the Village Inn! The hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming, and they shared some great hidden gems around Vermont, even though I am Deaf. The breakfast was excellent, and the room was very cozy. I highly recommend this bed and breakfast if you're looking for a place to stay!
