Reviews are so important! When we visited Calgary, we looked at several places and my eyes caught were drawn back each time somehow to this place. Not for its location, but I couldn't really think of another place to visit. Perhaps I followed my heart....Arriving at Hearts Choice you wouldn't expect from outside what you're about to experience inside! A small, tidy place, a counter where you can order, simple tables and chairs, but then... The atmosphere, the warmth. The explanations from each and every dish, when we sat down in a corner and the owner walked in (not knowing who she was) but immediately had her eye on each of her guests, embracing' them with her smile and charming character....
Reviewing Hearts Choices Cafe and Market on st NE. I like going to this place because the food is always good. It's vegan-Thai and the owner is Thai so it's authentic (as much as available ingredients allow). The ambiance is very simple, seat yourselves,...lots of natural light, noisy but with happy clatter. There is a cooler of frozen foods and shelves of ingredients for purchase to take home so you can try their foods in your own kitchen, which I love. What I don't like is that you go to the counter to order, get prompted for tips, fetch your own drinks and silverware, have your food delivered to your table (which may or may not be cleaned when you sit, depending on how busy it's been), an...
Low-key unpretentious place. Front counter worker was expressionless and robotic which tends to worry me if they aren’t excited for the meal I’m about to have that’s usually a bad sign, ya know? That said, I absolutely adored my jackfruit pulled “pork” burger. Will...please anyone who enjoys that type of sandwich. Adored the spring rolls. The buffalo cauliflower wings were a little heavy/greasy but still appetizing. What really bothered me was reading the ingredient lists on their to-go and packaged items full of msg and other fillers/flavour enhancers that really turned me off. If that doesn’t bother you, bon appétit.
Yet another vegan restaurant that doesn't accommodate people with nut allergies. This is the second vegan restaurant to turn away my business. It's bad enough that people cannot find too many vegan restaurants in this city, then to find out that a vegan restaurant doesn't...even want your business. This is a smaller café and you must go up to the counter to order but the staff was very friendly and the food was delicious. They make everything from fresh ingredients even their sauces and you can certainly tell. So fresh tasting and authentic....Lots of choices and so far everything we tried has been wonderful. We went there with our non-vegan friends who raved about their food so definitely something for everyone!
We had a delicious vegan lunch at Hearts Choices. I had the udon kimchee entrée that was absolutely fantastic. Plain interior décor and located in an unimpressive strip mall. But the vegan food is delicious. Order at the counter and the food is brought to...you. Wish we had a Hearts Choices where we live. Highly recommend if you are in the area.
I love this place. The food is delicious, it's great quality, and the staff are all so friendly. Hearts Choices is basically the heart of veganism in Calgary and I plan on being a long time supporter of this business.

I cannot speak highly enough of this restaurant and their outstanding cashew cheesecake. It has become our go-to for dates and healthy meals by delivery.
