First time at Hecho en Oak Park and stooped in for their highly recommended margaritas... Space feels like a small cantina with a handful of tables and bar area. Margaritas are priced accordingly with four flavors to choose from as well as two specialty margaritas. We ordered strawberry and pineapple, cucumber and a mezcalucha. They are tasty and refreshing. Mezcalucha smokey and strong. Caught a Mexican flan (Natilla) for dessert, definitely for the sweet tooth in all. Place was good, seemed a bit short staffed in a Monday.
This has got to be my go-to taco place in Oak Park. Food is great, slightly more expensive than your usual tacos for the portion size, but they are well seasoned and prepared. Guac is good. Tacos are good. There aren't very many tables but this typically is not an issue. The small size of the space is made up for by the big taste of the food.
Stopped in unexpectedly during a tornado warning and storm. So happy we did! Yummy tacos, quick and friendly service. Good drinks, the Hecho Margaritas were just what we needed. Server had good recommendations (get the pastor tacos! . Pescado and shrimp were also good. Will definitely be coming back.
The food was great! The Margaritas are a must! I tried the coconut margarita and it was delicious! Be careful one is enough unless you are heading out. Overall great service and food. If you are in town i would definitely stop by.
