I only gave one star because there wasn't an option for half a star. The food was day-old; the chicken wings were dried out, and the cabbage was mushy with a dark brown tint. The pork chops were overcooked and nearly made me choke. The cake slice was cut so unevenly that the sizes were different from top to bottom. This was all on a Friday night. I called to inform the restaurant, but it was three strikes and you're out for me—I'm not going back. The owner should know better. visited the Eastlake location and the only thing I can say is DON'T DO IT! waited FOREVER for the food. Made a comment about how long it was taking and they said well everything is made fresh. OK are you kidding me.? You have short ribs, oxtails, black eyed peas, yams and etc on your menu but everything is made to order fresh and that is what took so long? yeah, ok and the food is awful. Extremely salty! The corn has an odd taste almost vinegary, the mac and cheese is indescribable and not in a good way and the salisbury steak was more salt than anything. No thank you! Definitely ONE AND DONE!
I visited this restaurant with a friend and ordered the lollipop lamb, which was priced around $30. While the food was decent, I was disappointed that it came with only one side instead of the two that were advertised on the website. To make matters worse, when I got home and unwrapped my meal, I discovered a stain of blood under the paper in my container. I was thoroughly disgusted! I had considered going back the next day to try something else, but now I have no intention of returning. I'm really upset because I had hoped to leave a positive review.
The first time I called a few weeks ago, A man answered the phone, I asked what specials did they have? His response was “Same thing we have everyday” I said “Well it’s my first time calling so I don’t know what you serve everyday” and then I hung up! Called yesterday and the girl who answered was RUDE too! I ONLY ate there again because my husband liked the food. Unfortunately we WILL NOT be eating there again! We ordered wing dinners and the fries were black as these letters! You alls customer service SUCK!

The menu on Uber Eats stated that the smothered chicken was white meat. When I received my order, it had 2 thighs and a leg. I DONT LIKE DARK MEAT and wished it was white meat so I could have at least tasted it!!! The menu also stated the meal came with a cornbread muffin. I received a dinner roll. How am I supposed to eat greens and black eyed peas with a dinner roll?¿?Total waste of time and money!!!!
Been to the Eastlake location 3 times , it's been on point each time. I am not sure why they have so many bad reviews but the food is excellent, the potato dishes are amazing and the meatloaf was really good. I love to support local businesses and this is one I will continue to support as long as the food stays on point. Hopefully some of the haters in these reviews will give them another chance.
Service not cool this time. Called to place an order. Fried pork chop dinner with Mac and cheese with greens. The female took my order and said it would be about 45 minutes. Get to the place and their closed. All they had to say we're closing in x amount of minutes. Not good service. Wasted my time and gas. ????????????????????
Published hours are untrustworthy. That’s the problem with some restaurants. You don’t trust when you make the decision that they will be there! Building a business is a customer chooses yours from the All others, you have an opportunity to build. But not when you can’t be consistent

I ordered the oxtail snack pack, and I can honestly say I really enjoyed it. The presentation was appealing, there was plenty of gravy, and the portion sizes were generous with great seasoning. I will definitely be ordering this again!
