Easily some of the best bar food offered anywhere! Helen's JAD (just another dive) really sets themselves apart with their food. The Uber sauce is borderline too hot, hitting just the right mark for me of edible, enjoyable, and hot! It's not for the faint of heart. Their pizzas are also amazing. I have tried several of the hamburgers here and never disappointed, and oh the fries! How could I forget about the fries? They are always perfectly cooked and seasoned. And the Nashville hot chicken sandwich here is great- most places absolutely screw them up (get it with the Uber hot sauce). on a Sunday night in the city. the description of the dive bar is directly on, 1 barkeeper and 1 cook on the service. I couldn't find out why it took an hour to get food if there were maybe 10 ppl there and then we realized why the kitchen overwhelmed w to go eating fantastic burgers, big fries and the wings were some of the best ever! don't go in a hurry, enjoy the great music in the background, cold beer and finally great eating.
A fun place to go that has a neighborhood dive feel. The bartender when was there remembered our names and we all know we like that.The pizza was fantastic and I am looking forward to trying their wings and burgers soon. Located in North Kansas City next to McDonalds and close to NKC Hospital it is worth a visit.
nice free staff! I was turned around to come here (1st visit) and the young lady on the phone had no problem helping me get to the right way and was super helpful in supporting my order, I will definitely be back for some more wings and fries soouu good!? many thanks to the cook to be on time
Helen's is one of our favorite places to grab dinner and drinks when we don't feel like cooking at home. I am addicted to the Signature Wings! We also love the Black and Blue Burger and Patty Melt. Oh and the fries are perfect. Great Dive with amazing food
this place has the best cheeseburger north of the river. I have the northlander burger and it is from this world. the olive sauce kills, patty is cooked and seasoned to perfection. each element is made with carefree. I will return absolutely!
regardless of which time it is, eating is great! I have the mushroom and the Swiss burger. it was fantastic! many service industry people eat here and appreciate their efforts in the late hours. very good! friendly staff also.
After searching for the perfect chicken sandwich I have finally found the one! The Nashville Chicken sandwich is fantastic! The best I gave ever eaten. The drinks were great too! I will defiantly be back!
The food is a little pricy but worth it, cudos to the cook. Ordered a drink and the bartender made it like I wanted it. Great service as well. I visit every time I come to MO.
