Our group of five, all from out of town and ethnically diverse, had a disappointing experience at High Cotton. While the she-crab soup and appetizers were promising, the meal took a turn quickly. The swordfish, which our waitress recommended as the catch of the day, was dry and overcooked. We would have addressed this if given the chance, but our waitress didn’t return to check on us in a timely manner. We were also disheartened by the service from the lead manager, an older gentleman with slicked-back blonde hair. He barely acknowledged our table and was noticeably more attentive to a large group of older white diners nearby. This disparity in service made us feel neglected and undervalued....
We had an absolutely wonderful dining experience including impeccable service and delicious food! Being from out of town, we wanted the taste of Charleston and High Cotton delivered. We enjoyed the beet salad and she crab soup as starters and then had the catch of the day and shrimp and grits. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and were treated to glasses of champagne! There was awesome live music in the bar which we could hear from our table but also could carry on
Great food, great ambiance, staff was very attentive! Price was mostly appropriate. Got the steak and eggs, steak was cooked perfectly. Got the spicy **** mary which wasn't burn your face off spicy, so the right amount. Girlfriend got the cinnamon bun which was insanely sweet and doughy. Oysters were a bit expensive so I skipped but they did look good. They also had live music at 1030 in the morning which was great. Overall I would go back, and the food was excellent!
As a visitor to SC this was the highlight of my trip.The staff was very attentive and friendly. My food had a mouth watering clean crisp taste. If you like mussels I'd highly recommend you try them. The steak although a bit pricey was definitely worth it cooked to perfection. If you there are any issues with food or service they will definitely make sure the customers issues are solved promptly no matter how small.

We went for a few Espresso Martinis, but stayed for fantastic dinner!! The service and quality of food here is amazing. Everything we tasted was unbelievably good, all the seafood was fresh and prepared perfectly. It?s pricey, but I have no problem paying the check and tipping big for this level of service and food!! Will be back next time in Charleston!!
Great atmosphere, friendly waiters. Food was hot fresh and on time. She crab soup here is a must try, same with the scallops. Delicious. Came here for an anniversary and were welcomed so kindly, I love it. Also brought champagne for our table, it was so sweet!
The experience was awesome from arrival to exit. Amazing service and experience. Excellent food and atmosphere. Absolutely a must eat at in Charleston! It was my birthday they went above and beyond to recognize that and make me feel extra special as well.
I highly recommend High Cotton. Everything from the atmosphere to the service and of course the food and drinks were top notch. Definitely a place you need to go to if your visiting from out of town like we are.

Wonderful atmosphere and excellent customer service. Prices were ultra expensive and most items are a la carte. Very busy reservations are a must.
We really enjoyed this place. Went with a toddler and everyone was very nice, even when he babbled quite loudly. The food and service was great!
