This is regular spot for our whole family for close to 20 years. It is always good and fresh so you can't go wrong. This is not a fine dining restaurant or does it pretend to be so. Where else could you go and buy a dinner for six and probably never finish it all? The good news is when you have more then enough left for a few lunches. I have yet to find better Ginger fried beef or Singapore noodles anywhere in Victoria.Our friends and family that now live in Vancouver insist on a least one visit to Ho Tongs every time they come over. It's inexpensive good quality with For the most part friendly service, take some friends and you have it made!
Visited Ho Tongs on March 4 for lunch. We had been to this restaurant a year prior and the soups were great, so we returned in hopes of a repeat performance. What a let-down. The 3 of us each ordered a different soup and we all had a spring roll. The spring roll was average, but the soup was not good. We were assured the soup would have vegetables, but instead there were a few pieces of bok choy. The soup broth was bland and not worthy of eating. We were all disappointed, which was unfortunate given our memory of great soup from the year before. I will not recommend this restaurant and will not return to it!
My wife, my wife's former classmates, and I went to Butchart Gardens and proceeded to the city of Victoria. We had lunch at this resto and we ordered Fried Chicken, Sweet & Sour Soup, Fried Pork Chop w/ sauce, and Fried Rice. I liked the Fried Chicken but not the soup which was too sweet. The location is good because it's close to the main street, near downtown, and there's parking available. Service was very good and the prices were reasonable. You should try this restaurant when you're in Victoria City, British Columbia.
I dropped by Hong for the first time for lunch, ordered wonton noodle soup and house chow mein. Food arrived very hot and the chow mein was excellent, I was dooling watching the food others were being fed while i was waiting. Although the waiter was busy, he was attentive and pleasant, his service was great. I will be back for more visits. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
We stopped at this place on our way to Victoria and found the food to be authentic Cantonese and very delicious. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality and freshness of the dishes we ordered (one veggie dish, one seafood dish and one pork dish). Note that taxes may add 25% to the total bill (plus another 20% for tips)
We ordered for delivery a dinner for 2 with a couple of extra items. Overall the meal arrived very hot, and with all the items we orders tasting great. The only down side was the sweet and sour pork which was rather chewy but edible.
Wor Wonton Soup, Beef with Black Bean Sauce, Ho Tong Special Chow Mein, and Dice Almond Chicken Chop Suey- abundant serving (left-overs for home!) and delicious! Fabulous, fast service. They REMAIN our "go to" for Chinese food!

Great little noodle joint - great tasting BBQ duck and Sui Gow. Cheap and cheerful with huge portions.
