I wish I could rate this higher but we had an issue. I am gluten intolerant. This restaurant makes its own soy sauce so I thought I would have a good selection to choose from. I told the server right away I was looking for gluten free, which was not marked on the menu. I asked if any of the lunch specials, which come with soup, salad, appetizer, main, fruit and dessert, were gluten-free. He said two of them could be GF. When he returned to take our order, he said he’d checked with the kitchen and the specials came with tempura, which was not GF. I said I would give the tempura to my husband as long as the rest of the items, including the miso soup, were GF. He assured me they were and guaran...
One of the better places we had dinner while at Victoria. Prices were slightly higher than your usual Japanese place in Vancouver but the service and food quality reflected the prices.We ordered the dynamite roll, California maki, and spicy tuna roll. All were excellent. We also ordered the Yakisoba which I personally found a tad salty but the wife loved it.Recommend you call ahead and make a reservation as we tried to call and they said they were full and only took walk ins. And we got lucky when we got there.There’s also plenty of parking around the restaurant. It’s kid friendly where the provide either a booster seat or a normal kids chair.
Today I had the most delicious Japanese lunch I ever had (and I often had Japanese eating on many different places.) my friend treated me to the birthday in this restaurant that I wanted to visit one already. it was worth waiting. we ordered from the lunch specials menu, a complete page of it. all we have ordered was srumptious, with melt in her mouth sushi and tasting appies I have never tried. she also splashed on the cherry blossom roll, almost too nice to eat. the specials were very valuable and very generous. I can't expect to bring people with me. unpredictable!
Gozen has a massive menu that stretches across a wide spectrum of Japanese cuisine! Overall an excellent place to dine.Personal I would order the rolls. With so many to choose from, it would have to take a couple of visits to try them all. Their prices are fair, averaging around 8-17 dollars, the fancier the rolls the pricier it gets. I would highly recommend the rolls with mango! It’s also Vegetarian.Surreal atmosphere and friendly service makes for a great time, I will definitely be coming back! Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
absolutely tasty, which is stunning in view of the massive menu! I love the gozen boxes, so fantastic to have this little sorting plate. I will say that the tantanms had me struggling with the heat for my life, so I would recommend it there. the sushi is always fantastic.
This was probably the nicest sushi restaurant we’ve ever been to. Totally upscale, rustic looking building, and incredible food and staff. Bella was our server, and she was so kind. We would 1000% dine here again when in Victoria.
Great selection of sushi, sashimi, japanese beer ?, sake, soju, apetisers. Service is friendly and very helpful. Thank you, we will be back again soon.
