We decided to stop by for coffee on Friday night, but unfortunately, our experience wasn't very enjoyable. The parking was a nightmare! Once we entered, we discovered that the coffee area was squeezed into a small corner at the back, and there was a line with no staff present to assist. My wife quickly went to the restaurant side to ask if anyone would be coming to help, but the server seemed a bit annoyed by her question. After waiting a bit longer, most people in line ended up leaving, but eventually, one staff member showed up. She appeared quite exhausted, but once she began taking our orders, she was attentive, patient, and friendly. My wife was disappointed with her iced chai tea latte...
The customer service I encountered this morning was incredibly disappointing. I entered the shop to order some coffees and stood right at the counter. The barista was busy preparing a drink, and although she saw us, she completely ignored our presence. While I didn’t expect her to take our order immediately, a simple “Hi, I’ll be with you in a moment” would have sufficed. Instead, we were met with a glare from across the counter and total silence—no greeting whatsoever. The level of customer service here is unacceptable! I wasn't willing to spend my money at a place that treats customers like this, so we left without placing an order.
My husband and I were very pleased with both the service and the food at this restaurant. Every dish was served fresh and hot. Our server was not only friendly but also very knowledgeable about the menu, particularly in terms of options that are safe for someone with celiac disease. It's worth noting that we arrived at 5:45, before the live music and dancing started.
I visit Hochatown every couple of years, and I've always had a fantastic experience at this coffee shop. I make it a point to stop by for my favorite coffee drink at least once during each trip, and often even more frequently. I tried to visit this restaurant twice during my trip, but unfortunately, it was closed both times. I was eager to try their coffee, but we ended up going to a different local coffee shop instead.
The Chicken Madeira was really good. The chicken was very tender. Shrimp and Grits were OK but have had better. We had really good and fast service. We always enjoy eating here.
I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. Each of the four of us ordered something different, and we all agreed that everything was excellent!

The best chicken fried steak I have ever had!! So delicious!! Also the quac salsa were perfect!
