This was a terrible dissappointment! We used to love Holdren's. It all started with very stale bread. Then the artichoke appetizer was tough, and service was extremely slow. The halibut main course wasn't even edible (super dry and tasted bad), and we told a host that we couldn't even eat it. They just said sorry but it is a busy weekend. (Nothing was done to get us something else). The shrimp was edible but overcooked and tough. Service continued to be slow. The only good news is the steak was fine. This was an almost $400 dinner for the 4 of us and it was a terrible experience. We will not go back there again.
We waited 30 minutes to be seated for our 5:30 reservation. No place to wait except the sidewalk. Hostess was new overwhelmed, bartender was solo for first half hour we were there so possibly they were understaffed. Our server was great working her head off, very upbeat. They ran out of bread, too so they apologetically brought out 2 pieces for a table of 4. Crazy busy what with graduation Fathers Day.
Potato skins lukewarm at best, over cooked and tasted old. Filet was not seasoned well enough and no taste throughout. This is the same feedback from prior experiences. I just thought they were one off experiences. The quality of food and preparation continues to decline over the last 3 visits unfortunately. This will be my last time dining at this restaurant. The server was excellent though.
We had a perfect date night birthday celebration at this restaurant! The only downside was the music, which was more classical than upbeat. Although the music was beautiful, it was too loud. The drinks were fantastic, the food was delicious with generous portions, and every staff member was polite and professional. We will definitely be returning!

When we requested more bread, a busboy brought us uneaten bread from another table. Fortunately, our server noticed and corrected the mistake. If we hadn't caught it or if the server hadn't noticed, it would have been unnecessary.
The food and service at this restaurant were excellent. We were unsure if they were trying to accommodate more people, but the space felt cramped and tight, like a sardine can.
To eat last night. this place is taste bomb city! we started with their bruschetta. so good, they roar the bread that gives him one.
Best filet in sb and the drinks strong and delicious. Come here every week. Love Holdren’s.

Holdren’s is a must go when we visit Santa Barbara. Food and service is always phenomenal.
