As we're checking out, we noticed two people enjoying hot breakfast sandwiches at a nearby booth. When we inquired about it, we were told that they work there. It seemed odd—if the griddle is hot and in use, why not offer a breakfast takeout option since there was no wait staff available? We then asked for coffee, only to be told there wasn't any available. Instead, we were directed to an Ellianos and a Starbucks down the road. Is it really too much to ask to have coffee brewed and offer to-go cups? After all, customers are already taking donuts to-go! Holts, it feels like you're missing out on a chance to increase your sales...
I had heard about this bakery and was in the area and stopped by. With each bite I sd ummm . My son and husband loved their desserts as well. I wish I could have gotten the pound cake by the slice though....Oh I forgot to mention that the desserts are super inexpensive!!! You definitely want to stop by this landmark!
GROSS! Donuts tasted like they had been fried in year old oil. Nastiest! I’d never go here again. Pricing is ridiculous too! A dozen donuts shouldn’t be of ONE kind to get the dozen price!! Who does that? Young girls were nice, older ladies were snarky. If you think this place has good donuts you’d eat dog food.
Holt's no longer serves lunch or dinner and do breakfasts only. Sorry to have learned that, as going there for a meal always guaranteed good food. The bakery part remains open at its usual hours and is well worth a visit. Employees are friendly and helpful. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Although they've went down on the portion sizes and up on prices I still have my favs like the pecan tarts and cake squares but I can definitely say the sweets doesn't taste the same like they did before, but I still love them and the friendly faces.
My wife and I visit Douglas two or three times a year, and we always make it a point to stop at Holt's Bakery. Even though we live 180 miles away, it's absolutely worth the trip. The food is delicious—what more can I say?
Best baked goods I have ever had. The customer service was really good. Wait time was short even though this place is always busy.A must if you are in the area. The only downside is they are closed on Mondays:

Great dougnuts. The only thing I would change is the chocolate glazed need a more chocolate coating. The one the use taste more like frosting
