I stopped at the Home Kitchen Cafe for a late breakfast. There was quite a waiting list, but being alone, I was able to sit at the counter. I was greeted by the waitress immediately and requested a water and coffee. The menu was very interesting and I settled on “Home on the Range,” which was homemade hash, two poached eggs and toast of my choice; whole wheat. The hash was outstanding, it is difficult to find a good homemade hash so I was very satisfied with this selection. The eggs were poached perfect and there was no excess water, as is the case sometimes. The buttered toast was a great accompaniment for this fine dish. I have been on intermittent fasting for two and a half years this was my third breakfast and SO WORTH IT!!! Pecan Cinnamon Bun French toast, so soft and delicious, the side of ham was perfect, thick, salty and the hash browns very good a few tasted like they may not have been fresh this AM but still yummy. My wife took the lobster tacos and they were perfect. Lobster cooked properly, fresh made corn Tortilla and the beans were perfectly spiced! After breakfast we stopped by the Bakery because if I'm breaking the diet might as well go all out raspberry shortbread was Best I've ever had
Absolutely delicious wait staff are kind and efficient, food was so good and large portions. Breakfast burrito huge and very delicious plus I had the MIGAS, it was so good! It had handmade corn tortilla strips scrambled with eggs, caramelized onion, roasted poblano peppers, pepperjack cheese, fresh cilantro and cilantro lime mojo. Served with sour cream house made pico with avocado. 5 stars can’t wait to go back.
Food was great. The Hostess Barb was a hoot. Our waitress had a great sense of humor and was very pleasant. Prices were reasonable. We had lunch but saw some of the breakfast platters come out for others and those looked pretty delish also. They have indoor or out door seating. Home Kitchen is a must-visit restaurant in Rockland, even though I want to tell you not to go so I don't have to wait for a seat Seriously though, it's amazing! I usually get the huevos rancheros, and my husband gets the philly cheese steak breakfast sandwich. And you HAVE to get a stickie or sinnie!
Amazing food and HUGE selection.... great gluten free options. We were told a 35 minute wait on a Sunday morning but ended up being seated in less than 10! The wait staff was attentive and friendly. The kitchen clearly got overwhelmed as we waited over 30 minutes for our meals. Will still go back!
Busy on a Sunday morning. And So worth the wait! They really move here, everyone’s on their toes and the service is quick. The waitstaff are all friendly and we felt welcome from the minute we stepped in. Thanks for a great breakfast, looking forward to our return trip.
Oh Yea! What a gem of a place! Well worth the wait for a table but we got lucky and were seated right away. Big portions, tons of options including veg/gf. Our waitress Kim was AWESOME. EVERYTHING is scratch made. We’ll be back tomorrow!!!! Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Great little diner near the waterfront. Great selection of food, fresh, gorgeous presentment on the plate. Fast and friendly service. Would go back again when in Rockland!
