On September 9, 2023, I reserved the semi-private section at Hook Reel in Elmwood Park, NJ, to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday. Everything went wonderfully. We decorated the space, and it looked fantastic. We had a party of more than 20 people, along with two servers. The servers were outstanding—patient, efficient, and always checking in. They delivered our food hot and without any mistakes. Everyone in my group was completely satisfied and amazed by the great service at such a reasonable cost. We enjoyed appetizers, dinner, and drinks, and we brought our own cake. The staff and the manager even helped us by bringing it out and joining in to sing Happy Birthday, which overwhelmed my hu...
So I came here to the Hook Reel in Elmwood Park NJ. Ordered a seafood boil, catfish bowl, and a ginger ale with ice on the side. When my drink came I said, “ oh, excuse me I wanted the ice on the side.” The server at the register is ho took the order seemed to have an attitude about changing the soda with putting the ice on the side in a smaller drinking up. When she returned with the ginger ale and a “SOUP” cup with ice in it. I found out that allegedly whom ever was working in the back got angry with her for pouring out the ginger ale with the ice. I’ve been to many boils, and hook and reel locations but THIS ONE was phenomenal. Not only was the waiter really attentive but the food was at perfect temperature. I ordered a half pound of shrimp head off and scallops. Often times at boils the shrimp don’t be well cleaned but this one was cleaned to perfection, and texture of the scallops was very good. I highly recommend if you never went to a boil, or a hook and reel or even if you did to try this one out. 5 out of 5Parking: The lot is shared with many places in which services each establishment with many parking spaces.
The food was cooked well and fresh! Drinks were extremely weak especially for the price you pay! Had 3 drinks and was perfectly fine because they mostly pertained juice. They don't have specials the way the other locations do, but the service there is much better than the other locations! If you want good food and good service definitely a place to go. I visited Hook and Reel for lunch, and I was disappointed by how loud the music was—unbelievably loud, in fact. There was only one other table occupied, so it was surprising that the volume was turned up so high. We asked the waitress to lower the music, but she refused. As a result, we decided to leave. I would not recommend dining there.
Great, Friendly and the food was on point. I suggested this as an option the flavors were there for my daughter and our waiter gave us all the best run down. This was my daughters first time so. Definitely go and enjoy.
The staff is extremely friendly, and the food is fresh and delicious. Be sure to check out their specials! For similar dishes, their prices are lower than those of other places I know.
Really good and tasty! Reliable on a bad day, but food portions are sometimes messed up, I think I deserve a bit more crab meat on my Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
