I had the crab balls, mac and cheese and cold slaw. The crab balls were pretty good, but the mac and cheese and cold slaw were not to my liking. My issue is with the poor customer service. I walked through the door and a young man is leaning on the counter facing the door. I said hello and waved a small wave and got barely a greeting and no smile. The young man who rung us up said hello when I said hello, and answered my questions to my satisfaction but once again, stone faced. When they called our number, we did not have our receipt (not sure why) so asked the young man bagging the order if it had a particular item. Silence. Asked again. Silence. Decided to stop on Father’s Day and get fish. Purchased the meal they posted as a jumbo fish dinner with 2 sides at $17.49. First, the fish was not jumbo and was fried or refried too hard. The sides, collards were tasteless and the potato salad was horrible. I use to go to the one that was in DC, so much better. It appears that quality no longer matters just quantity how much money you make). I have posted a picture of the meal I had to toss in the trash because was not fit to eat. This was my first visit to this location, and I have to say the Glenarden location does it much better. The mac and cheese was disappointing, consisting of dry penne pasta with chunks of cheese but lacking any creaminess—it wasn’t baked, just layered. The green beans were bland, and the seafood salad was overwhelmed with mayonnaise and pepper but lacked any real flavor, like garlic salt or Creole seasoning. The only dish I genuinely enjoyed was the catfish, which was excellent. The chefs really need to update the franchise manual or ensure both cooks receive the same training.
I had a pickup order, and as soon as I entered, I asked if it was ready. An older man behind the counter simply shrugged and said, "I don’t know." Thankfully, a younger man stepped in to help me locate my order. However, I left with a sour impression, and I believe it affected how I perceived the food. Or perhaps the meal was simply not prepared properly from the start. Having just moved to the East Coast, I was eager to find a new seafood place to enjoy, but this experience left me disappointed.

The fish and the seafood salad and the hush puppies are really really good but the customer service is horrible My first time visiting the lady that was sitting at the cashier just sat there barely spoke very nonchalant not good customer service. The outside appearance looked kind of raggedy and dirty especially the entrance door look like it haven't been cleaned in years I visit this place on a Sunday. But other than that the fish is good and the hush puppies were made fresh delicious!
I'm going to stop trying to eat here and patronize this black business. Restaurants closes at 9 pm per the website, but I called to place an order at 8:15 pm and was informed they close the doors at 8:20 pm. What? Like what kind of business are y'all running? It's going into the ground. No matter how good their food is, they don't have to worry about my black hard-earned dollar again. Sad you can't support your own.
I really want to support this establishment, the same way I did in DC many moons ago. Unfortunately, it may be the last time. Who is the actual owner manager now? . If young people are going to work here, train them the proper way. Don’t take Black community support for granted like our Asian friends. Don’t throw any ole kind of food at us and give us poor service. Let’s do better.
Best fried fish restaurant that I know of, I’ve been going here since I was a child when they were located on H st. Big Momma is EVERYTHING, you know when she is in the building EVERYTHING is alright.Parking: Parking is in a small lot which the restaurant sits in the middle.

The air conditioning wasn't working, and I ordered the four-piece catfish dinner but only received two pieces that were cut in half. I feel cheated for nearly $20. I expected four whole pieces. On a positive note, the banana pudding was delicious. Food rating: 1/5.
