We decided to try out this restaurant since it had recently been renovated. The menu was limited, but we both decided to order the mixed grill. Unfortunately, my partner had wanted lamb but received a chicken breast instead, which was disappointing. The steak seemed to have been microwaved and was not cooked to our liking. The food was served to staff members before us, even though we had ordered first. The chicken from the salt and pepper box tasted unpleasant, and the texture was tough to chew. After debating where we would treat ourselves to our tea we decided to go to the Horse Jockey. Needless to say we won’t be going back. The floor and table was sticky and it was cold in there. We should have trusted our instincts and left. We ordered our drinks and then our meals. The food was very disappointing, tasteless and very overpriced. Such a shame as over the last couple of years the managers/owners had done such a good job supporting the local community. I wish I’d read the recent reviews before we decided to go.
Joke of service about 10 staff standing around all need some training by looks of it. All meals came seperatly very slow service and without chips no cutlery no salt no steak knifes had to ask for everything. Made it much worse fact none them where rushed off there feet so had plenty staff on stand by but all looked like didn't fit in or knew what doing. Kids deserts came out serperate leaving my youngest waiting for ever for poxy ice cream how hard is it to bring 3 out. Avoid it was so disappointing!!!

I come here regularly for drinks with friends but hadn’t been for food since the new owners took over… I’ve definitely been missing out! My niece and I had pasta bowls for lunch, hers was Halloumi and I had the Arrabbiata with chicken, wow it was spicy! Good size portions and best arrabbiata I’ve had in a long time, and this is a regular for me in many Italian restaurants. Would definitely recommend and will be dining here more often (when I can get in as it’s so busy! .
Went to the Horse and Jockey with my friends had a lovely meal and a few drinks. It was very busy. Staff were lovely very friendly and helpful. They brought your drinks to the table which is very good .We have been to other places and they don't do this . Would definitely recommend this pub to all our friends and family.
Every time I visit the horse an jockey for a Sunday roast there’s never any lamb dinners available restaurant full of smoke due to cooking the roast potatoes in the pizza oven with a very poor extract system
This morning's breakfast was fantastic and the staff here are always friendly. We usually come for lunch and always enjoy the food, drinks, and desserts. It's a lovely pub.

The staff seemed unhappy and hardly smiled. I ordered the Sunday roast, but the beef was not the greatest. The service was also a bit slow.
Nice enough, but £5 Morreti is town prices and not what you’d expect from your local pub. Other than that can’t really fault it
