We ordered the hot chicken sandwich with mac and cheese. The sandwich was absolutely fantastic! The mac and cheese was definitely different — not overly creamy but had a great taste. Each order also came with free sweet tea, free homemade ranch (which was really good, by the way), and free bread! The staff member at the counter noticed my excitement when asked about pickles, and even offered me extra. We were extremely pleased with the food and service. Overall, the experience was definitely worth it!
What happened to this place? The portions are small, the food is not very good or inspired, the restaurant is dirty, and the service is nonexistent. HCT was one of best restaurant concepts in Columbus, simple but well executed, now they are failing on all counts. Our last two visits were beyond disappointing, it's obvious why the crowds are no longer here. HCT should close, so many other chains do hot chicken better.
I wouldn’t order from here until the new owners work out their new system. Recently ordered pickup from here and they only had two people working. They had to get through a backlog of orders and even though the front server knew I was waiting for my order, they didn’t call my name. Took 30 minutes more than it should have to get my order. Don’t waste my time with poor service.
I ordered the plant based nuggs and they came out as charcoal nuggets!?! The waffle fries were waffle crumbs and the Mac and cheese was pudding. Chicken dry and tasteless way overcooked but the waffle fries are on point. And there homemade ranch and sweet tea are grade A that’s why they get a 2 star in my book otherwise I’d give 1 star
Absolutely fantastic fried chicken. In fact, I've tried everything and it's all good. The seats are stools and it's a little echo-y but it's got a really nice patio. Eat there whenever I can.
It was ok. Not a fan of white bread so featuring this doesn’t mean much to me. The chicken was pretty tasty and the place was clean. The banana pudding was awesome!

My chicken was rubbery and impossible to cut with a plastic knife. The mac and cheese was inedible.
