"For a bar this place is legit. Best view and old world charm. Drinks are $15-20 which could be expected here. There are cheap non alcoholic drinks ($4.5) and decent price share plates. Love the top two floors."

I think much of the allure with Henry Deane / Hotel Palisade is that the wretched and worn outer could host such a gorgeous lively rooftop bar. With Henry Deane long on my radar, we visited for a Sunday session, finding it only mildly challenging to locate some seats despite our expectations. For those happy for a quieter environment, the public bar on ground level is welcoming and rich with personality in not only the building but welcoming staff. Alighting at level four, there is a sub-level of the rooftop, which hosts a few opulent private casual seating rooms as well as original balcony to overlook The Rocks and the Harbour Bridge. To the west, there is an open glassed, atrium style cube...

Monday night drinks with the best friends and best view of Australia's most beautiful city: what's not to love? On weekends it's impossible to move in this tall but tiny footprint of a building, according to our lovely bar-girl attending the ground floor bar. We spent an hour up on the top floor languishing in the comfort of soft cushions and low white couches, against the spectacular backdrop of Sydney Harbour Bridge and my old hunting ground, before the reserved guests were to arrive as we did not book a table.  They eventually cancelled but we decided to move downstairs anyway. My Campari and tonic was $10.00, which is about the same price that I  would pay anywhere. Cocktails a...

I was expecting big big things after the nine million stairs I had to climb to reach the rooftop. Turned out it was the stairway to heaven, the most stunning fit out overlooking beautiful harbour views. AMAZING. Can I live here please? Those pale pink couches! I die. Unfortunately the menu wasn't really doing it for me I think it fell a little too far into pretentious territories. Where was the humble bread and dips? (There was a cheese platter at least). The frose was phenomenal though the sizeable glass was filled to the absolute brim. Definitely a super sophisticated place for a cocktail or two. The top two levels are very swish, very glossy and glamorous, very Sydney. Can't say I appreci...

Strolled here after a night at the observatory. Very much an idyllic location. There are 2 different places within this hotel, a classic pub and a very swanky bar. The pub was dead so we went up the elevator to the bar. It was very ritzy feeling and girls in heels and cocktail dresses were everywhere. It was a bit of a tight fit in there, even though we were on the 1st floor, not the rooftop (that was packed) drinks were expensive as you'd imagine, but the view was well worth it. I am excited to return here, perhaps during the day next time.

I went to Henry Deane which is located on the roof of Hotel Palisade. First and foremost the view of the harbour bridge is spectacular! The interior is very neat even though the building is old. The food are small plates perfect for sharing. The oysters were fresh, kingfish was well presented but the highlight was definitely the lamb cutlets. Service was friendly and attentive. It isn't a large venue so bookings are recommended. Also there's a set of steps to climb even after the elevator ride.

The downstairs pub in the charming old building, standing alone on the block. On a quiet Wednesday night we almost had the place to ourselves, we grabbed a window seat and enjoyed our bridge view. What an amazing Sydney experience. And to the food, classic pub fare done really well. Yum! Will def keep this in mind for next time we’re in the city. Probably one of the best pub experiences ever. Plenty of local metered street parking nearby, and the neighbourhood is super cute. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch

It's a lovely place for afternoon drinks and snacks with friends. The views are incredible, as well as the decor! We loved the scallops & cocktails. Definitely go the coconut cocktail, it's a nice salty sweet combination, that certainly leaves you wanting more!
