Hôtel Restaurant Eychenne

We ate here whilst we were staying in the hotel Eychenne (this is the hotel restaurant). We chose to eat here as we'd been on the road all day and it was raining heavily so we couldn't be bothered traipsing around town to find somewhere....We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food; the first course was a small portion of boudin noir with apples, wrapped in soft filo pastry. It was very tasty (nice salty home-made boudin noir complemented by sweet apple). For the next course I had sautéed foie gras with poached pear the liver was very good quality and was nicely offset by the not-too-sweet pear, lightly dusted with cinnamon. good fresh and tasteful products , neat presentation, pre-tested kitchen, copier and personalized and efficient service. the menu at 27€ is just in my opinion 2 or 3 € too expensive. the decor a little old but it has its charm. the restaurant is quiet and the garden very pleasant.

dejuunate by a hot day in the shade of trees and parasols allows to better appreciate the generosite of the served portions. finely worked in the tradition without inventivite but with the gustative values. Nickel service badly peak time. an excellent quality-price ratio.

Beautiful food and lovely restaurant. Very good selection of food and the little booklet translating french cuisine was very helpful as they don't have menu's in English and some of the fine dinning French expressions are quite difficult to translate
