Everything was wonderful—the server was fantastic, and the atmosphere was lovely. However, after 8 PM, the noise level increased, which made it challenging to converse with my date. The food was delicious, though the portions felt a bit pricey for what we received. Despite this, I would recommend this place to others as a nice date spot. Just a small suggestion: it would be great if the music could be turned down a little so we can enjoy our conversations more easily!
This black owned spot is a must visit. The food, ambiance, music, drinks...they nailed it! This should be on the list of best restaurants in NJ or even the US. We visited for a birthday celebration and we had an excellent time. I love house 157. This is my second time going. 1st time was for my Fiancé birthday. The owner is very nice. 2nd time was brunch with my sisters. I must say both times were absolutely amazing. We had a wonderful dinner at House 157. The food was excellent! We tried the lamb chops and the oxtails, both of which were incredibly tender and delicious. I highly recommend this place.
