These people know nothing about running a restaurant? The service our table of nine received was just awful. The waiter seemed to have a very hard time taking our orders, there were a couple of specific requests, which when the food finally came had been completely ignored. We waited for over an hour before we saw any food and some of us had cold meals because other meals took so long to come out. This is a big restaurant, why then would you put two large groups stuck over in a corner, where it was hard to hear people on your table over the noise from the other. The food was only just OK and given the dreadful service, would certainly never return.
Visited a week ago and were impressed as before. Having lived through several owners over 25 years I can say these are the best. Furnishings colourful and tables properly setup with clean coverings. My partner says she thought the spring rolls were excellent. Mongolian beef was good but the four treasure duck was excellent. We asked why softshell crab not on the menu. They can do both easily by giving 24 hour notice so we shall try that with guests on our next visit. The menu car is neat (laminated) but lacks information on most dishes. Excellent wine list with no pretentious offering of Grange or Hill of Grace at nearly $900/bottle as I have seen.
Just a lunchtime visit with elderly mother(100+). She loves Chinese and it I knew was good. It is some time since I visited but for lunchtime quite amazing as only folk in the plac. Service friendly and prompt. Only had spring rolls, four treasure duck and a glass of rose each. Excellent. A table was set for 18 near us and the owner had done as requested and set out food for 1pm. I saw them arriving at 1:15 Hope their food was warm. Proprietor not that annoyed as paid in advance. If you want Peking duck or a few other Chinese items you need to order a few days ahead. That was you get a great san choy bow.
Table of ten that waited an hour and a half for mains. The entree beef skewers were like strips of leather and all the entrees dribbled out over 30 minutes! The mains were mushy like out of a bottle. My main never arrived at all. And then staff persisted in telling us we should have ordered banquets as they were very busy and a la carte caused them a problem. Lunch for 4 on a Friday, nice casual if basic sort of chinese restaurant. The chef is the waiter, so I don't know what it would be like if there were a lot of bookings, (which does happen, I have observed, going past). The menu was typically fairly extensive, wine list limited but cheap corkage. The service is friendly and genuine, and the food was good value for the money. Decor is better than some, but again, typical. All in all, a pleasant relaxing occasion.
Always enjoy a meal here with mates who are on a budget! The Lemon Chicken and Cantonese Pork are amazing! The fried rice isn't the best, I don't like the peas in it and it always has a burnt taste, other than that, all is good!
