We heard rave reviews about Hunter The Restaurant where we decided to celebrate Father?s Day. The restaurant is small but spacious which gives you that intimate cozy ambiance and elegant decor. We were greeted warmly and was immediately seated to our table since we made reservations for 4 people. They served complimentary bread, olives and prosciutto ham which wasn?t too salty and melted like butter. It was a good combination to dip the bread on the broth that came withthe spicy steamed clams of White Wine, Garlic, Cilantro, Serrano Chilies appetizer. Where to begin is difficult. One word for this restaurant is outstanding..or maybe magnificent..the flavors of the colossal shrimp were simply extraordinary..bread freshly baked and butter you could spread. Lamb seasoned to perfection along with the stacked scalloped potatoes...halibut as fresh and tender with awesome seasonings. OK so French martini made by a master bartender and the apple gallette....Magnificent and great staff all around. Definitely in my top 3 fine dining restaurants on long Island!.
If you haven't visited Hunter, you are missing out on a spectacular dining experience. The food is absolutely delicious, the atmosphere is outstanding, and it truly deserves a 5-star rating. Whether you're looking for a romantic night out or just a casual date, Hunter is the perfect spot. The bar is great, with two talented bartenders, Lawrence and Rizza. Chef Hunter is truly amazing at his craft. Give this place a try and you'll quickly become hooked.
Hunter is starting to feel like home. Every visit has been incredibly enjoyable. Meeting Hunter, the chef, was very special. The passion he has for every plate that comes out of the kitchen was clearly evident. We shared 5 different appetizers and every one was well presented and full of flavor. Another terrific experience at Hunter. We enjoyed the special filet mignon entree with peppercorn sauce and the salmon over ratatouille. Both were delicious. We started with our favorite grilled artichokes. They are becoming an every visit must have! Once again Francisco was the perfect server. He is delightful and we enjoyed every interaction with him throughout our meal. Looking forward to our return!
Had my bridal shower here and it was an absolute dream! The aesthetics at this restaurant are just beautiful! My guests are still talking about the food 2 weeks later. This was our third visit, and while we enjoyed our meal, this was the third time we were presented with the same menu. The obviously talented chef needs to find a cure for menu fatigue. That said, Hunter is one of the better places on Long Island to have a well cooked, properly served dinner. The half-price wine on Wednesdays can't be beat.
I've eaten here 3 times now, and it really is one of the best restaurants on Long Island in my opinion. Had the duck last night, did not disappoint!
