My husband and I had a night out for our anniversary and we chose to dine at Hy’s. The restaurant was very nice. The service was amazing. Our server Tony did everything possible to make our evening a memorable one. He was very attentive and helpful. My steak did come out a bit too rare (as I asked for medium) and since I had to wait 7 minutes for a new one Tony did make up for it by bringing us out a complimentary dessert. The food was amazing. We even had 2 servers come out and remove our lobster tails for us! The only thing that wasn’t perfect was the mac and cheese. Red velvet and wood panelled walls is what you expect and get at Hy's. Crazy steak house prices - everything ala carte - and a very high end wine list is what you get.Everyone but me ordered steak and I asked for the fresh catch fish - halibut. Two couple decided to share a steak and we're very happy with the half portions. We had the Caesar salad and as always a great performance at the table.The steaks were great. My fish was overcooked.The waiter was extraordinary - a real professional in every way - friendly and excellent service. this is a good place to go for a traditional steak dinner.
I had not been to Hys before. Thought it would just be another steakhouse. I was so wrong. The food is amazing. Yes, it is a steakhouse, but there is so much more. Seafood was excellent, salads were excellent, cocktails excellent. I would highly recommend, and I will be back. Service was some of the best I've ever had in Calgary. Our waiter, Bruce, a true professional. If you like impeccable service and a quality meal, this is for you. Portions were generous. I may share an entree next time.

For what it claims to be, and for the money spent. Service is really average, one would think they went to Nappa to get the bottle of wine we had just ordered. The setting is nice, not enough worth the money. The steak was average. All in all, an average restaurant, not worth the money.
Food and service was good. Found the prices very high for the type and quality of food. Worth a try however have found many better places to eat in Calgary at much better value.
Went for dinner and drinks with friends. Was supper fun and the food was great. Good staff and they did not even kick us out for being a but rowdy.

Fantastic service from Sean and perfect steak. Our children also loved the children's menu. The restaurant is beautifully decorated.
