40min after we ordered we checked in on our food as we'd notice a table that got there 30min after us had already started to get their food (the place was not even half full). We were told ours would be there in 3min no apology for the delay apparently they were busy (!) What we got was below average and tasteless and it was only 3 tapes out of 6. There are no words in the English language that would accurately describe the level of disappointment in this Restaurant and its staff. Not only do I thoroughly dislike having to wait 45 minuets before I get a drink (after having asked for its whereabouts 3 times) but I would have to say being accused of lying about what menu items I didn’t receive is the utmost ridiculous and insulting thing that I have EVER experienced in a dinning setting.
Now being in the service industry myself I realise that not all operations run as intended but If you are a restaurant in Newtown on a Saturday night it is safe to assume that having a staffing roster of 3 waitresses (for a dual levelled venue) IS NOT...
I dined here last Friday night with a group of friends and we ordered the set menu. Shortly after ordering we were advised that the restaurant was out of calamari but could substitute garlic prawns instead. We received everything but the prawns and reminded the staff on 2 occasions. We finished our dinner not having received the prawns but the waitress said she had brought them out and accused us of lying. I have never wanted to take the time to write a negative review on any business before. But not writing one is just not fair for other businesses who are busting their asses. We went to Iberico for a friends' birthday last night. Ten of us arrived at 7:30 and ordered around 8pm, but did not get our food until two hours later around 10, and the restaurant was very empty for a friday night...Everyone was starving and so angry at the service. I ate here last night with friends and was really disappointed with the service we received. We ordered the set menu and shortly after were informed an item on the set menu was not available and offered another item from the regular menu to replace it. The replacement never arrived. We were served the rest of the menu and then asked to see if it was coming several times with the same response of shock that we hadn't received it yet and that it will be sorted out. The food at the Iberico is quite good but badly let down by erratic service that reminded us a lot of restaurants in Buenos Aires- that is wait staff seemingly busy on some indecipherable system that doesn't involve actually serving customers. Also had to remind staff more than once that dishes were missed.
