Pretty spot. Attentive service. I ordered a bagel, they toast it and leave you to put on whatever spred you choose, no extras. It was ok hot on the first bite but quickly wore off. Eat it fast before it taste like cardboard. At least I have the spreds. Unfortunately I took mine to go and the bagel quickly faded to inedible. Same for my scone, looked far better than it taste. Store bought food? In any case I could not eat it. Not my style otherwise just go somewhere super cheap and maybe get better food. My Dirty Chai is drinkable but very sweet. Too much sugar, no taste of coffee, I can make out the chai in it. Did they forget the expresso??? Like the idea of this place but needs better qual...
First the good, rad building very walkable to downtown. The server was patient with our families order. The coffee was on the bitter side but made beautifully. When my daughter sandwich came out it had meat on it, she ordered it without. I let the server know, she said she’d remake it. We ended up taking it to go. She bites into later in the car says it tastes of sausage. They did not remake it, they just took it off.
Ordered a oatmilk latte, it was written on the cup, and the barista said oatmilk latte as she put it on the counter... found out the hard way later that day it was NOT oatmilk.. and seeing that they have a similar review about a vegetarian sandwhich i take it someone there doesnt care for dietary restrictions. Unfortunate bc it was a cute shop
The 16 oz Latte was 6 bucks, wasn't very frothy at all, and lacked any real flavor. I stood in line for 10 minutes just to order. Watched one employee do all the work while the other counted the money in the tip jar. As a state employee with only a 15 minute break, I was late getting back to work.
Ike Box is an iconic business that has been an important feature of Salem for decades. The restored funeral parlor architecture is super cool and the coffee is better than most competitors.
Great coffee and friendly staff. I meet here regularly with a group of crafters. It works! They have a meeting room available, too, but you need to sign up for that in advance.
Wonderful coffee shop in downtown Salem. Comfortable venue to meet with a few friends or have a meeting in one of the meeting rooms (Rsvp needed)
I did not order food. The coffee is great. They are a non-profit to help children in the local area of Salem, Oregon
