When I stay late at night, for work, here in Ticino it is difficult to find a place to go to eat. But not for the Indipendenza Restaurant, in Chiasso. Sometimes I arrive around 10pm and the kitchen is still open. From the outside it doesn't really look like a restaurant, it's a minimalist place, set in a 1900s Art Nouveau villa. Perhaps this is precisely what makes it special, because it prefers substance over appearance And the Indipendenza restaurant has existed precisely since those years. A hidden gem in Chiasso, what a nice place this bar is, great atmosphere . Staff are very friendly and helpful, the service was excellent. Good range of drinks and food available well worth a visit, just a short trip from Como.
