Went to 3 bars on a Friday. This was far the best. You have the family feel of the place. Linda has great stories to tell, keeps you laughing. She shares what's going on in her life. The 2 neighbour's from 2 doors down that help her out are great also. If you want the small town bar feeling, this is the place to go. I will be back everytime I am in town.
We decided to visit this well-known bar, Linda's Place, which shares my name. It opened its doors in 1977, and you can definitely tell from the carpets, which seem to be the originals and have a bit of a vintage smell too—quite funny, really! The walls are filled with memorabilia, showcasing the many celebrities who have passed through over the years.
This is truly a special place. We walked in, and instantly felt at home. Linda was a fantastic host, chatted with us for a while and. The bar has a type of character that is earned, and can't be bought. Of all the pubs that I have been to in Newfoundland, this is probably my favourite and I will absolutely be back.
I didn’t get a chance to eat because the food trucks took over, but I tried a Lamb's Caesar salad and enjoyed an Indian beer. A friend suggested I stop by while visiting Quidi Vidi, and I’m so glad I did! It’s such a charming place, and the hostess is absolutely wonderful—a true gem. I really love St. John's! Linda is a lovely person with fascinating stories and an impressive collection of intriguing antiques. The atmosphere is relaxed, warm, and welcoming. It's a true gem in St. John's, and I will definitely return!

Walked in walked out.Two people sat on chairs staring across at bar. Not sure if staff or customers. Like a scene out of deliverance. Stood at the empty bar, no one serving so I left.
